Dear Hiring Manager:

With this letter, I wish to express my strong interest in joining your organization.

As demonstrated in the accompanying resume. I have experience managing HR functions for both a leading manufacturer as well as a major retailer. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. Most recently, I worked as a HRM for JKRS Inc. The job I applied to was misleading with respect to what my responsibilities were supposed to be. I discussed my concerns with the manager, but things did not change. For this reason I decided to resign my position to seek a company where I can fully utilize the experience I have acquired over the years to help a company achieve their goals with respect to Human Resources and the organization.

Prior to JKRS Inc., I was a Human Resources Director at Lamonica’s Pizza Dough Co., where I oversaw all HR functions impacting 190 employees located across four separate plant facilities, three in California and one in New York. I built the HR Department, including hiring and managing a HR Generalist and HR Assistant. Among my achievements:

Credited with building a solid HR infrastructure with standards, policies and practices that did not exist prior to hire while simultaneously overseeing growth of the company from 120 employees to 190 staff members.

Lowered the overall overtime rate 90% after monitoring OT across all the departments.

Saved money on Workers’ compensation (WC) insurance costs after creating a safety program that helped lower the WC MOD rate by 40 points.

Initiated and implemented a “Safety Recognition Program” that honored a manufacturing floor employee quarterly for their diligence in maintaining a safety culture.

Implemented an Employee Performance Review program.

Reduced the employee turnover rate from 40% to 21%.

Previously, with Ace Cash Express, I maintained responsibility for all aspects of HR, impacting 468 employees dispersed across 144 retail stores in California, Nevada and Arizona. In this role, I was honored as back-to-back “HR Manager of the Year” in 2007 and 2008 for exceeding multiple Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), besting 26 other HR managers. I also ranked No. 1 out 26 other HR managers for maintaining the lowest turnover rate.

I hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration, with concentrations in Management and Human Resources.

As your HR leader, you will find me to be a team player committed to exceeding your performance objectives. I have no doubt that I would be a valuable asset to your operations, and look forward to interviewing with you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Sylvia Villalva
