Client: Citigroup (Role: Senior Business Analyst) 03/17 onwards

FPG (Finance Projects Group) is designed to serve Product Control Groups (stakeholders) in the Institutional Clients Group within Citigroup. FPG provides the Citi Finance Organization with knowledge and expertise in order to efficiently and effectively deliver new process and system enhancements. Product Control Groups are responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of a trading desk. They are responsible for the monitoring of trades in the portfolios they look after, and act as ‘owners’ of the P&L and Balance Sheet on a specific desk. This includes revenue accruals. Product Control Groups are owners of various Product Processors which are functionally automated trade processing systems that calculate economics of trades.

The current project involves redesigning of business processes to align the new workflows such that all data required for P&L and Balance Sheet reporting (in S2 application) feeds through Genesis (the central data warehouse for all Positional data) instead of being received through feeds directly from the Product Processors. Genesis data is divided across 2 Types – Wholesale and Retail and is further divided into multiple Products. Each Product will have data from multiple Product Processors spread across various Regions and Countries.

Global Markets Analytics (GMA): provides a new Business Intelligence, with user-friendly QlikView dashboards, for the Global Markets Finance & Reporting Organization. The system automates the collection & reporting of financial data pertaining to Revenues, Income, Budgets, Forecasts and Headcount for all of Capital Markets Organization under ICG in Citigroup. GMA incorporated complex Business Intelligence and Analytical capabilities.

KDB: basically a data-driven application framework development for the overall analysis, implementation, testing and support of various updates to existing KDB instances in Citigroup. The main functionality of the KDB application is to provide real-time data captured from different sources in memory into one framework. The business users can then easily analyze the captured data thereby making better trading decision by picking relevant data that are significant to them. The most common business requirement was identifying new financial data sources needed by the analytics team and then based on a detailed analysis, design changes are done. This phase usually involves making necessary modifications to add new tables, add new fields to an existing table, deleting obsolete tables, deleting obsolete fields from an existing table, replaying data when there is any corruption, debugging log files to resumes suspended/crashed jobs that will lead to data-loss etc.

CFD (Commodities Fundamentals Database): This Project was developed for the Commodities division of Citigroup to automate its data collection from various sources into one database framework. The goal was to provide a single source of data so that every analyst can switch over to source their data from this data framework. In short, this framework will capture all the fundamental data that shall be required for Commodity Trading for Citigroup. Earlier, each of the sub-groups in the Commodities division used to collect their required data independently and store them in their own legacy way, some in raw data files, some in excel files, some in their own database etc.

The Deutsche Bank Index Quant (DBIQ) project is aimed for a framework development that provides index calculation and analysis modules integrated with web-enabled front-end modules. This framework had business logic implementation for the fixed-income mathematics as well as various sensitive and complex algorithms specific to Deutsche Bank indices. As a result, it provides portfolio managers with strong support for benchmarking and index analysis, portfolio maintenance and portfolio analysis. The main modules developed are for Equity Analytics and ETF Reports using the existing DBIQ infrastructure so that the analytics results and reports are published in the front-end seamlessly. Equity Indices are a set of indices designed to reflect the returns from a basket of underlying components through a combination of factors like dividends, corporate actions, selection and rebalancing. An Exchange Traded Fund(ETF) represents a basket of stocks that reflect an index (diversification) but it trades just like any other company on a stock exchange (flexibility/liquidity).

•Responsible for leading and mentoring a 5-member offshore development team in charge of the planned deliverables as well as daily tasks that would be assigned as minor enhancement requests by Business.
