PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Software Developer/System Analyst
Sports Media Technology (SMT), Jacksonville, FL, 2006–Present
Hired for my C++ skills, to develop the TeleVision Interface (TVI) platform. The TVI is still valued by our broadcast clients, who use it to customize control pages for the broadcast of sporting events. I developed the TVI in the Borland C++ development environment. The Python C/API was then used to allow embedded python scripts employed to modify control pages on the fly. We did this to accommodate the dynamic nature of the broadcast industry.
SMT also provided the scoring and statistics entry and collection for many sporting events. The data is stored in an XML format using distributed Document Object Model (DOM) technology to allow clients to receive notifications and access the data, when things change. The TVI reads data from the scoring DOM to provide information to the broadcasters, including BBC, CBS, NBC, Tennis Channel and Australia’s Channel 7, who can then decide when and what to share with their viewers.
Also designed and implemented a SQL Server database to provide our TVI clients with biographical data for all tennis players.
