Dear Hiring Manager:

In response to the Construction Management position, I would like to take the time to introduce myself and apply. I know that with my strong combination of professional experience and education, I would become a valuable asset.

I have many years of extensive experience in residential and commercial construction methods & management. I began my career as a laborer then to journeyman carpenter working residential, mid-rise const., bridge and highway projects, on to cabinet maker then foreman & superintendent on up to project manager. During this period, I have developed and refined my skills in all areas of the business including sales, trades, inspections, customer relations, management, contract negotiation, operations, on-site project management, project planning, budget administration, staff training and development, subcontractor management, materials procurement, change-order management, AIA documentation, working with architects and engineers, safety and code compliance, quality assurance, and project close out. I am hard-working and dedicated, while highly-experienced in all aspects of industry work, and am proven in seeing all projects to their successful completion, in-time, and I consistently meet (usually exceed) all project parameters.

My work has taken me to many areas of the country including the mid- west and most of the east coast (New England states, S. Carolina and Florida) satisfying a wide and diverse range of clients such as Cranberry Lakes Resort, Joe’s Crab Shack, Clara’s Rest., B. Dalton and others. I also have a vast knowledge of different regional building techniques and methods that I can apply to projects, often saving time and cutting cost without sacrificing quality. I am a firm believer in training and motivating employees to increase production as well as quality and safety to reduce time and overall costs.

I have also developed strong communication and people and customer relations skills. I am perpetually motivated, and possess an ability to come up with the answers. In short, I know that I would be a strong addition to your team both in improving the bottom line and increasing productivity. My ideal situation would enable me to utilize all of my strengths and abilities while providing me the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally.

I’ve enclosed my resume for your review, and look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

James L. Mangino
