Education
University of California, Davis, CA 09/2014 – 04/2017
BS. Chemical Engineering & minor on Material Science
Employment History
Undergraduate Research Assistant - Chemical Engineering Department, UC Davis 08/2016 – 02/2017
Researched the networked control system specifically on quasi-decentralized control framework for dynamical manufacturing processes.
Assisted a graduate student in designing an integrated control System with focusing on PI Controller & Simulation on MATLAB.
Assisted a graduate student with designing a communication strategy to achieve the desired closed-loop stability/performance.
Battery Process Technician – GRU Energy Lab Inc. 07/2017 – Now
Prepared electrodes of coin-cell batteries by coating slurries upon cooper sheets at a designed gap.
Removed thin films by applying IPA upon cathodes through a manual solution-deposition method.
Cleaned cell components with IPA in an ultrasonic cleaner and performed thermal evaporation for electrodes in a vacuum oven at designed temperatures.
Assembled cell components, electrodes, and electrolyte in an air-free glovebox filled with argon.
Experience
Catalytic Reaction Rate Project, spring 2016
Planned a strategy and lab procedures for the group to conduct the catalytic reaction rate project.
Implemented lab techniques based on catalytic research to conduct a lab scale semi-batch reaction.
Analyzed data and deduced findings through Excel/MATLAB to determine the reaction rate law.
Compared the reaction rates in terms of reactants/water concentration and proposed a suggestion for industrial scale to the instructors.
Cyclohexane Production Senior Design, spring 2016
Constructed Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and used ASPEN PLUS to design a process plant of hydrogenation of benzene vapor to obtain 99.8% purity requirement with maximum amount of cyclohexane (with NIOA-11 catalyst).
Designed specification sheets and troubleshot problems with equipment sizing for operating units i.e. reactors, heat exchangers, compressors implemented on the plant.
Optimized the upstream and downstream processes to determine the optimal operation conditions and technical parameters to yield the optimized production.
