Professional Work Experience:

January 2007 to present: Cigar Bar owner under the MI. Cigar Bar law.

Retail cigar and related sales. Numerous customer contact. Rental of cigar lockers, managing a game room and cigar lounge with outside patio. Ordering and selling product. Selling cigars at numerous events to include having a local Cuban trained cigar roller perform at weddings and special private events.

8/15/2005 to January 2007: Security Consultant, HCS Resource LLC, Troy, MI. I am responsible for the review of contract security accounts. (Currently completing post graduate Homeland Security classes at Michigan State University towards a certificate in Homeland Security/Terrorism to be received in February 2007.)

September 2004 to 8/15/2005: Security Director and Facility Security Officer (FSO), HCS Resource LLC, Troy, MI, with employment site at Severstal NA, Dearborn, MI.

I was responsible for security/safety and management of Homeland Security under the Maritime Transportation Security Act, for a large (500 acre) steel manufacturing facility which encompassed many buildings, offices, roadways, railroads and a large inland waterway. I investigated crimes on site and corrected deficiencies with the U.S. Coast Guard that the facility had prior to my employment. I developed the Facility Security Plan (FSP) which was adhered to by the other contract security force and I took measures to assure that the FSP was followed, to include removal of personnel. The FSP included patrol tactics, use of various security devices, vehicle search mirrors and vehicle search methods per federal homeland security guidelines, all of which were increased according to the HSAS/Maritime threat levels. I also developed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), required by the Coast Guard, and agreed to by Ford Motor Company, which was co-located on site (Ford Rouge Complex). This MOU was signed in agreement by myself and Ford officials and accepted by the Coast Guard. The MOU was required under Homeland Security regulations and was part of the FSP. I boarded large ships, to assure that their Homeland Security papers were validated, which included contact with U.S. Customs and U.S. Immigration officers. I directed the duties of my shift supervisors, scheduled their work hours and processed their payroll. I also directed the other contract guard site supervisor, along with his cadre of 28 security officers. I also developed a payroll distribution plan to deliver employee pay checks. In addition to my FSO duties I corrected the deficiencies of the contract security force. My contract ended and Wackenhut was replaced at the contract security force.

8/22/03 to January 2004: Site Supervisor, (full time), Guardsmark Inc., Jackson National Life Insurance Company Corporate Headquarters, One Corporate Way, Lansing, MI. 48951

I was responsible for the management of the security force, related security systems and procedures for this corporate headquarters facility and external buildings. I processed payroll, trained, scheduled and disciplined security officers assigned to all three shifts. I assured that the client’s security needs were met per the security service contract. I developed security procedures for special events and assignments. As an American Red Cross CPR instructor, I trained and certified officers and employees of the client. I maintained good liaison with the client. I was promoted from my prior position of Security Shift Supervisor. For personal reasons I requested a transfer back to IRMC because the work schedule was conducive for care giving to my ailing mother.

7/17/02 to 8/22/03: Security Shift Supervisor (full time), Guardsmark Inc., Ingham Regional Medical Center (IRMC), 401 W. Greenlawn, Lansing, MI, 48910.

I was responsible for security and safety at a large city hospital. As a supervisor, working the third shift, I supervised a shift of security officers. I assured that the officers on my shift properly followed all procedures and assigned duties. These procedural duties included: writing reports, retrieving and safe keeping of patient valuables, money transport from the cafeteria to the security safe, responding to emergency situations, maintaining foot and vehicular patrols, monitoring/changing/reviewing numerous CCTV cameras-tapes and contacting customers and patients within this health care environment. I also reported performance rating information concerning these officers, along with writing disciplinary reports.

December 1997 to June 2002: SIU-Insurance Fraud Investigator, AAA of MI. (full time employment) One Auto Club Drive, Dearborn, MI, 48126

I was responsible for investigating insurance claims for possible fraud (ie: medical fraud/auto theft) throughout Michigan (My work area included Detroit, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek and all other areas of MI.). I utilized many investigative databases (ie: MI Secretary of State, Auto Track, Lexis Nexus) and techniques (ie: surveillance), wrote investigative reports, contacted attorneys and related court personnel, interviewed claimants suspected of insurance fraud and maintained liaison with law enforcement agencies. I had frequent contact with the Michigan Secretary of State concerning fraudulent auto claims and fraudulent titles. I processed statistics, reviewed records and corresponded with insured’s via certified mail (denying claims). I processed all the necessary paper work without assistance from clerical support and worked independently. I also managed teams of investigators, and reviewed their reports, that assisted me in my investigation of fraudulent insurance claims, and I testified in court for prosecution on insurance fraud cases. My investigative territory was most of Michigan. I voluntarily resigned from this position due to illness of elderly parents.

March 1982 to January 1998: Special Agent (U.S. Government), Defense Investigative Service 17177 North Laurel Park Drive, Suite 417, Livonia, MI. 48152-2659

I processed classified information and conducted pre-employment, suitability, and post adjudicative investigations [(complaint investigations) personnel security issues] on candidates requiring security access for military, civilian and contractor status. I worked independently, used an IBM-PC with modem to manage my caseload and I wrote lengthy narrative investigative reports. This job entailed about 100-300 investigative leads per month, consisting of interviews, interrogations and records checks. I interviewed/interrogated people from all levels of society and I worked independently from my home. Additionally, I maintained liaison with numerous law enforcement agencies, organizations, institutions and I performed all the administrative duties required of a Senior Resident Agency office located in Lansing, MI, which included the assignment, review and closing of investigative files. Furthermore, I performed any investigation that the Secretary of Defense deemed necessary concerning national security. This job required a Top Secret (Sensitive Compartment Information) security clearance, with periodic reinvestigation, which I acquired and held successfully. My work area was the central part of Michigan, which included about fifteen counties, including metropolitan Detroit. Additionally, I infrequently was assigned to work in other parts of the U.S., and I always volunteered to work temporary duty to assist the needs of my agency and other federal agencies. Furthermore, I received many letters of commendation for my productive work habits that I displayed while assigned to temporary duty out of my normal work area. I also received a cash award for case management. Note: I was also employed by the Defense Investigative Service in Jacksonville, FL, from 3/82 to 12/85, at which time I transferred back to Michigan. I lectured college students on how to perform proper background investigations, per federal government guidelines. I resigned from this position due to government down sizing, with a monetary buy out with civil service permanent job reinstatement rights.

1975 to Oct 1978: Worked as an Inventory Control Clerk for Burroughs Corp. (1yr.), Detroit, MI. several uniformed security positions from about 1976 to 1978, to include in-house security for Manufacturers Bank (now Comerica Bank), 131 W. Lafayette, Detroit, MI. Also worked for Kmart Corp. as a Store Detective for a summer while employed as a police officer.
