In June of 1996 I suffered a stroke, which left me paralyzed in my right arm, and leg, and “aphasia”. I am left handed so it did not affect my ability to usa a computer, or hamper me in anyway.
I own my own home, drive my car, and do daily maintenance for myself.
Aphasia (the inability to properly communicate) has somewhat limited my verbal communications, but as people get to know me and my disability, my ability to communicate has significantly improved.
I am currently going to speech therapy at Maryville University two times a week and have shown much improvement. I plan to continue this therapy until I am close to, or at 100%.
