In-depth knowledge of design and functionality of gas turbine engine.

Perform structural FEA analysis of High Pressure Compressor (HPC) components to assess and /or modify structural design of these components to meet the design requirements

Strong abilities in 2D and 3D FE analysis, LCF, Fracture Mechanics and Burst analysis.

Interpret, document, and review FE analysis results with peers and global stakeholders.

Provide component-level and/or system-level design recommendations to global stakeholders based on interpretation of analysis results

Have sound understanding of GD&T.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Professional Experience

Design Engineer – GENERAL ELECTRIC (GE), Bangalore (July 2014 – Present)

~3 years of professional experience in designing and analysis of mechanical components of different aircraft engines. Good understanding of mechanical design processes and design for manufacturing.

Applied Six Sigma and statistical techniques to engineering design.

Some of the key projects undertaken at GE are:

LEAP High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Case Stress and LCF Analysis

Performed stress and LCF analysis for Global 3D model and Sub-models for FAA certification project.

Improved LCF life of HPC forward case by 300% through multiple design Iterations, using simplified 3D FEA model and hand calculations.

Prepared detailed analysis document and present it to Technical review panel.

Received Engineering Excellence Award & multiple Above and Beyond Award for demonstrating expertise in the design and ownership in stress analysis and improving the life of component.

LEAP High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Rotor Stress and LCF Analysis

Performed Stress and Modal analysis for LEAP HPC rotor components to support FAA certification.

Optimized HPC rotor components design for performance, weight and cost.

Actively participated in LEAP Cost Projects and Lead two LEAP Cost out Projects.

Design and FE analysis of Bolted Joints for High Pressure Compressor.

Have exposure for entire NPI program cycle (CDR, PDR, DDR, VDR, Cert Report).

Hardware Owner for GE90 Fan Rotor Components

Responsible for expeditiously delivering Design modifications, addressing issues related to manufacturability, service and repair for fan rotor components to reduce the engine wait time.

Provided quick engineering substantiation and developed repairs for fan rotor components to reduce the departure records, which improved the component turn-around time in the overhaul shop.

In-Depth knowledge of Service Engineering and currently working predominantly on DR’s, AOG’s, Shop Manuals, etc.

Enrolled for Rotor MRB Certification and have good knowledge of MRB Engineering.
