Matrix Applications, NY, NY 10/2015-4/2016

Project Management Office

As a consultant I developed a Project Management tracking system that allowed Matrix to track all of their corporate projects, both IT as well as not IT projects. The system utilized the SmartSheet software, sending out weekly reminders to the project leads to update their software, updating all project status’ and producing weekly project status reports. I also was a key lead in the migration of their IT issue tracking system to the new JIRA system, moving over 150 open items from the old system to JIRA, and closing over 80 old issues. Once the new systems were up and running, I trained the Matrix team to run the software.

GalaxE Solutions, Somerset, NJ 5/2013 – 9/2015

Project Manager

GalaxE Solutions is an IT consulting firm that specializes in providing IT professional services throughout the development lifecycle through solutions-based engagements. These engagements included both web based technology and Mainframe technology.

As a consultant, I managed several key projects that arose from the Express Scripts purchase of Medco. My responsibilities required me to coordinate Express Scripts application and enterprise support teams with the GalaxE on and off shore development teams and necessitated me to interface with Express Scripts PMO teams. In each of my assignments I was responsible for the following tasks:

Create and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project

Managed projects using Agile methodology, hosting daily project scrum meetings and documenting and assigning work for each sprint.

Daily interface with technical (on and off shore) resources, BA and SME resources, Facilitators, and Business Support Analysts, make project level decisions, manage the team leads and the day to day activities

Identify project Risk and mitigate said risk

Manage and report project progress to ESI and GalaxE senior management

Coordinate project meetings with all project stakeholders

Responsible for scheduling of resources, daily, weekly, and monthly status reporting.

Prioritization of issue management, working directly with Account Managers.

Project Manager - Medco to Express Scripts Rebranding

Managed the upgrade of all external facing Express Scripts applications to change all *medco.com URL’s to Express-scripts.com URL’s. Twenty-two external facing applications were modified to display Express-scripts.com or redirect from medco.com to Express-scripts.com.

Managed an on-and-off shore GalaxE team consisting of 18-20 technical, Business Analyst, and technical leads, and coordinated with all of the individual application and enterprise support teams (Matrix Management). This was a 1.5-million-dollar effort that was run as a fixed price engagement, delivered on time and in budget. The Agile development methodology was used to implement this project.

Project Manager – Benefits Explorer

Managed the upgrade of a legacy benefit system to a web-based system that gave the clients the ability to view their prescription drug history and current benefits. This replaced the original system that was built using mainframe technology. The new system utilized Sofea and Mule technologies, interfacing with numerous internal systems (Eligibility, Claims, Network, Benefits, Client Data History).

Project Manager – Claims Adjudication

Managing issue resolution for Claims Processing during conversion of the Express Scripts prescription drug systems into the Medco prescription drug systems. Key responsibility was the integration and consolidation of Express Scripts technology and applications of Claims processing, Network, Eligibility, Benefits, Client History, and support systems into the Medco systems, while enabling Express Scripts to continue to support their clients and business partners. The Medco Claims Adjudication systems were Mainframe applications, interfacing with numerous back end systems that were both Mainframe and Client Server based.

BNY Mellon, NY, NY 5/2006 – 3/2013

Vice President - BIA (Bank Investment Accounting)

Managed a group that supported the development of customized extracts, new business conversions, and normalized data feeds for multiple large clients to and from SunGard’s InvestOne system for Mutual Fund clients.

Responsible for over 2,000 daily, weekly, and monthly transmissions, handling over $1 trillion in assets, located in U.S., Great Britain, and India.

Delegated production support and enhancement assignments, interacted with business partners (both internal and external) to define and document requirements and to ensure project specifications were complete and goals met.

Responsible for all aspects of projects; setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects.

Prepared reports for upper management regarding status of projects and generated performance metrics. Provided staff and vendor training as required in both the application and business functions.

Migrated support function to India, outsourcing production support and development to India-based consulting resources.

Project Manager – AMEX Post Trade Processing

Managed group that provided 24/7 support for the Post Trade processing systems, including both Equities and Options systems operating on HP and IBM Mainframe hardware. This group handled member firm inquiries, generated ad-hoc reports, modified and enhanced production job streams.

Worked directly with business to create and execute test plans and scripts for financial system migrations and enhancements.

Designed and built Access database for daily transactions so selected reports could be generated without Mainframe interaction.

Eliminated all printed output on the AMEX trading floor by designing, coding, and implementing a client server–based reporting system. Annual cost savings of over 1.2 million.

Redesigned Post Trade processing systems, consolidating and streamlining the workflows.

Managed System Acceptance testing phase of IDCE (Inter Day Comparison Equities Trading) implementation.

Performed the quality assurance testing as part of the Straight Through Processing project that replaced FTP file transfers with IBM MQ series and CICS software.

Managed a group providing 24/7 support of Citibank’s financial systems, including Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Capital Projects, and multiple Client Server front-end data editing systems.

Responsible for the development of process flows and software design, including analysis of business requirements, specification writing, coding, staff scheduling, and task prioritization.

Recruited and mentored staff and consultants, interfaced with business partners, and worked closely with senior level business and technical leaders.

Restructured development team, reducing headcount by 40% while improving quality and quantity of output.

Created multiple Access and Visual Basic data editing subsystems, reducing transaction errors up to 60%.
