Project: WebTools Testing (Sep 2011- Nov 2013)

Client : Brocade Communication Systems Inc.

Environment : Windows Server 2003/2008/2012,Windows XP, 7, 8, RedHat and SUSE Linux Description:

Brocade WebTools, an EMS application is an intuitive and easy to-use interface that enables IT organizations to monitor and manage single Brocade Fabric OS (FOS)-based switches. Administrators can perform tasks by using a Java-capable Web browser from their laptops, desktop PCs, or workstations at any location with IP connectivity. Web Tools access is available through Web browsers and a secure channel via HTTPS. To increase the level of detail for management tasks, Web Tools enables organizations to configure and administer individual ports or switches. User name and password login procedures protect against unauthorized actions by limiting access to configuration features. Testing Areas

• Have extensive knowledge in FOS features like Virtual Fabrics, Fibre Channel Routing (FCR), Fabric Watch, Security (AAA services, RADIUS, LDAP and TACACS+), Port Admin, Switch Admin and Switch View.

• Feature Verification testing for new enhancements in every release.

• Regression testing in the assigned areas for every release. Project: FOS Testing – Statistic Monitoring (Sep 2015- June 2016) Client : Brocade Communication Systems Inc.

In storage area networking, Fabric OS is the firmware for Brocade Communications Systems's Fibre Channel switches and Fibre Channel directors. It is also known as FOS and FabOS.

Testing Areas

• Functional testing of FOS features like Stats monitoring (Flow Vision and MAPS)

• Monitoring the switch for any anomalies and reporting the same.

• Configuring simulation ports in the switch to generate simulation traffic and monitoring the same.

• Generate, monitor and mirror various traffic flows in the fabric. Project: FOS Testing – Diagnostics (June 2016- May 2017) The purpose of the diagnostic subsystem is to evaluate the integrity of the system hardware. Testing Areas

• Have extensive knowledge in FOS features like Diagnostics and Fabric Services.

• Offline and online tests on new switches.

1. Offline Tests

§ Testing the boot up process of the switch - POST, Port LED tests.

§ Loopback tests on all the ports to verify if the hardware is in operable condition.

§ Diagnosis of ASIC errors by testing the ports.

2. Online Test

§ Tests to identify link level issues.

§ Diagnostic tests on ISLs and ICLs.

§ Diagnosis of ASIC level or port to port level issues.

§ Identification of issues in SFPs, Fibre optic cables and ASICs. Equipments Handled:

Ø Different Brocade SAN switches, Host Bus Adapters and Storage devices. Ø Avago, Finisar, SmartOptix, Molex and FOIT SFPs

In each release, SFPs and QSFPs supporting an advanced speed option and various distance support is introduced. Diagnostic test needs to be performed on these hardware in different allowed configurations within the fabric.

Ø QSFPs (Both ICLs and Breakout connections)

Ø Emulex, Qlogic and Brocade HBAs: The Diagnostics tests run on the links connected to the HBAs vary on each brands. Each HBA needs to be tested and on different supported speeds. Awards and Achievements:

Best Project Award: Statistic Monitoring

For JAS and OND quarters

Out Of the Box:

Submitted a paper ‘Efficient Test Plan Matrix’ in the Good Practices 10 Conference. 1. Introduced Test case split up method for optimizing the testcases and to efficiently track progress and defects.

2. Efficient Test Plan matrix method was introduced to map defects to the correct execution record which efficiently helps in regression testing.
