Design and develop Process Design Package (PDP) for different sections of Polypropylene Technology - UNIPOL® for different clients worldwide (Purification, Degassing, reaction and regeneration) that include:

Dow Chemical 2007-2012
Control Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) Online Analyzer Engineer
Scope: Analytical Technology Center. Located in Texas Operations Site, Freeport, TX and in the West Virginia Operations Site, Charleston WV.
Designed CEMS for a DOW plant in Pittsburg, CA. Work with vendors to get quotes and with contractors during the construction and FAT process. The system met the CA state and EPA regulations. The new installation decreased plant down time and reduced emissions by 10%.
Created a statistical tool to monitor the reliability performance of the analyzer validation on-line. The tool allowed to monitoring more than 80 analyzers automatically and reduced the overall down time by and it was a primary tool for predictive maintenance program
Wrote the first CEMS design guidelines for the Most Effective Technology (MET) library at DOW Chemical. The documentation is in wide use throughout the analytical global group.
ECOPETROL – Cartagena’s Refinery 2003-2005

Planned and led the annual strategic planning for the Refinery Company. The refinery portfolio includes projects for M$17. The new process resulted in an increment in Refinery project execution of 10%
Monitored costs and strategic plans with the Plant Manager and Production Engineers and suggested changes if any deviations
Managed the Balanced Score Card of the Refinery, including provide guidance and coaching in the strategic planning process to the leadership team and other stakeholders
ECOPETROL – Cartagena’s Refinery 1995-2003
Scope: Production Engineering, Improvement Engineering and Process Engineering for Utilities Plant (water treatment, air, power and steam), located in Cartagena, Colombia (South America)
Achievements:
Wrote technical specifications and participated in the selection of new contractor for the water treatment plant. The new contact included a reduction of $300.000 annual
Designed and lead a program to reduce of steam leaks for the Refinery. This program reduced in a 15% the steam leaks in less than 3 months and it was applied as part of the utilities preventive plan maintenance plans
Led a team to identify, implement and evaluate opportunities in a large industrial utilities plant. The opportunities were implemented in one year or less and reduced operating cost by more than $500,000 annual
Developed technical specifications for the Water Treatment Contract.
