Successfully prepared the unit for prospective payment system for
inpatient rehabilitation unit with direct margins of over $30M annually.
Attained patient satisfaction scores at the 100th percentile.
Attained employee satisfaction scores at the 100th percentile.
Increased market share to 57% with a growth in admissions by 30%
despite numerous regulatory changes.
Successfully added 13 beds to the unit in 2010 with another CON
award for 14 beds in litigation with competitor at present.
Co-led in preparing Roper for successful designation as a TJC
Primary Stroke Center.
Attained CARF accreditation in general rehab, stroke, spinal cord
injury, and brain injury specialty.
Initiated successfully a bed reserve agreement with MUSC when
adding 13 beds to the unit.
Established the Center for SCI in collaboration with MUSC and the
SCI Research Fund assuring financial viability with a successful
campaign raising $1M endowment.
Applied for and was awarded $824,500 from eleven grants from
2011 to 2014. Applied for additional grant for $300,000 in 2016 for
telehealth project for SCI population- awaiting decision.
Obtained additional $1M in net revenue in 2016 by establishing contract with the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.
Assisted with raising $2.2M in philanthropy dollars for rehab
expansion.
