Sr. Database Administrator, 3/16 – 8/17, ARM Insight Portland, Oregon

As one of 2 Sr. Database administrators, my main responsibility was SQL administration, responsible for all the production databases on 9 servers (6 VMs & 3 physical) running SQL2014 in a PCI compliant environment hosted on Rackspace and 2 other databases hosted on Amazon AWS. Maintained, enhanced, and tested backup processes for disaster and data recovery. Created, maintained, and enhanced ETL data imports as needed for existing and new clients. Built out a testing and QA environment for deployment and report creation/testing. Developed and established data stewardship standards and procedures used in the development and modifications of current and future ETL processes. Developed new ETLs for populating test environment with fake & obfuscated data to allow for PCI data to be used in test environment. Built out a reporting environment using SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and Power BI for system, executive and, external clients. Developed testing and reporting methodologies to evaluated cloud solutions in preparation of moving products to the cloud following established data stewardship standards.

Sr. Database Administrator, 3/12 – 3/16, Smarsh Inc Portland, Oregon

As one of 4 Sr. Database administrators, my main responsibility was SQL administration and infrastructure. Was responsible for all the production databases on 2 windows clusters, running SQL2008R2 and SQL2012, using replication and linked server to move data between the servers. The production databases total size was approximately 650 Terabytes, with partitioned tables and Full-text indexes. Was part of the development team that migrated the production databases from SQL2008R2 to SQL2012 with zero down time. Developed and implemented backup processes and scripts for disaster and data recovery. Developed and created a database space report showing the database file structure, available space and how it relates to the container volumes; allowing for database file and volume SAN growth projections. Responsible for maintaining 4 environments QA, Development, Dry-Run and production, keeping them in synch with production type data using backup/restore, SAN snapshots/replays. Responsible for maintaining SQL on the DR site with periodic testing of individual applications and system wide blackouts.
