Express Pharmacy in Manassas, Virginia: February 2017 to August 30, 2017. I was responsible for all operations of the store. I was responsible for opening and closing the store, ordered all merchandise, filled all prescriptions, consulted with physicians and counseled patients with respect to taking medications.
Supreme Pharmacy Glenarden, Maryland: September 2009 – present. I fill prescriptions at an independent pharmacy, consult with the staff pharmacist/proprietor of the business.
Walker Pharmacy Inc., in Washington, D.C.: August 1983 – September 2009. President/ Pharmacist. My family owned at least one pharmacy throughout all of the
the above years. As the proprietor of the business and the only pharmacist I was responsible for the entire business. I was responsible for all aspects of pharmacy operations within the store including inventory and personnel. It was my responsibility to maintain inventory of the store by ordering medicine and all merchandise such as, candy, soda, and sundries. I checked-in, priced and put away all drug orders and other merchandise and I completed third party rejections. I filled prescriptions, advised customers on medication safety, and delivered prescriptions to customers. I communicated with physicians with respect to patient medications for new prescriptions and refills via telephone. I also operated the cash register, pulled outdated, damaged and recalled merchandise and maintained pay roll for my staff and responded to alarm calls. I am familiar with all insurance providers and with Medicare parts B and D.
Capital Hill Hospital in Washington, D.C.: 1982 –1992. Pharmacist-Night Shift.
As a night shift pharmacist I filled all prescriptions for patients in the hospital, both I.V. and P.O. medicine. I was responsible for the interpretation of physician’s orders, review of patient therapy, dispensing of appropriate ordered medications, and performing all operational duties necessary. I monitored patient drug therapies, and provided drug information. In addition, as the night shift Staff Pharmacist I supervised and directed support staff. I was also responsible for computer input and retrieval of patient medication profiles. I communicated and interacted with physicians and nurses with respect to patient care and medication. I counted and measured drugs, capped and uncapped vials and bottles and prepared compounds. I also maintained daily and weekly reports.
