PDF Application:
Omni Channel
Today’s Macy’s Inc merchandising solutions are fragmented across Channels. This fragmentation not only creates a distinct disconnect between our Merchant, Store and Logistics organizations, but also impacts am ability to manage inventory inefficiencies.
The business recognizes that communication and collaboration between the Stores and dotcom merchants is essential to the success of Omnichannel. To enable systems to meet this objective, the product definition will be aligned across dotcom and stores to bridge the gap that exists today due to a channel specific product view.
Omnichannel will require aligned product definition sold by either channel or both channels. This product alignment will be shared across Channels within a Brand. Therefore, Item Creation and Management will ensure that product definition is aligned by using common services and workflow processes to control the set-up and maintenance.

Allstate, USA Sr Developer Feb 2009 to June 2010
EDPPI
Customer Communications is the Business Unit responsible for programming the Pre-Issuance package, among several other things. Pre- Issuance is a sub-group of EDP that is responsible for programming the Legal and Administrative T-Docs and ultimately pulling together the coding to create the pre-issuance package to that will be mailed to the customer.
Pre- Issuance receives the data to create the policy for NTNI Output. EDP1 programs those requirements for both Legal and Administrative T-Docs. Requirements identifying which t-docs are sent for each specific policy is sent form the Regional offices and the cover Letter requirements are sent from the marketing /Customer Experience office. Once the data from the NTNI is received, EDP1 automatically pulls specific codes and creates a print stream that will create the required documents and sends it to MWOPC to print the documents that is mailed to the customer. The document is printed based on the programming codes that Pre-Issuance sends to the printers at MWOPC. A second print stream is processed by EDP to create a PDF of the Pre-Issuance package by a Xenos Process to be sent to EDMS for storage. This is also an automated process.

IMB
Allstate was founded in 1931 as part of Sears, Roebuck & Co., and became in public traded company in 1993. Allstate is the nation's largest widely held personal lines insurer and one of the nation's leading insurers in urban areas.
The United States Post Office has implemented a new barcode system called Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB).This Intelligent Mail Barcode is a new way of barcoding the mailpeices.
Currently USPS allows mailers to use either POSTNET barcodes or IMBs (or a combination of both) on automation mailings to qualify for discounts. The discount savings for automation mailings is significant; in 2007, Allstate saved approximately $20 million in discounts for automation-priced mail processed from the OPCs.
The main objective of this project is for Allstate to implement full service IMB changes for letter and flat mailpieces mailed through the Allstate Output Processing Centers (OPCs) to save millions in discounts automation-priced mail process.
To accomplish these goals, all application delivery areas and OPC’s that currently generate POSTNET barcodes on outbound and inbound mail pieces will be required to implement IMBs in place of POSTNET barcodes.
