As the SME, managed external vendor files from Apple, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble electronic sales data. The vendors often sent unexpected\unpredictable file format changes. Manage the eEditions ETL processes through the unmanageable vendor files to feed a legible Web-Focus report system using Pentaho (an ETL tool). Handle error processing and generate fixes and/or make corrections based on data integrity errors using SCRUMBAN (agile methodology). Managed Pentaho version upgrades and elicit information from stakeholders to improve process. Including, supplying supporting documentation to other teams for troubleshooting the data that gets sent incorrectly. Created the Business and Functional Requirement Documents (BRD, FRD). Communication link between the Product Owner, Business Community, Developers, and various levels of management that need assistance to understand the interworking of eEditions. Wrote complex SQL to retrieve and manipulate data to update relational database tables, to include production table updates.

Migration off IBM Datastage ETL systems into Pentaho (open source ETL). Elicit information from stakeholders to improve process. Produced the BRD, FRD, and SLA’s. Designed system from a hard code environment to pass parameters where changes are quick and seamless without a program change. As the SME, created maintenance tool that will delete logs based on a 30 days history. The maintenance system also generates quarterly emails to verify Product Owners and attached any system support file for accuracy. The maintenance system assists on keeping resources clean and cluttered free from wasteful job run. Rare to encounter issues - designed for efficiency. The migration into Pentaho saved the company $100,000 yearly maintenance fees using SCRUMBAN (agile methodology).
