I was working as Materials Manager for Tenneco Inc, a automotive tier-1 manufacturer of sales of over $180 Million. Tenneco is world leader in manufacturing of shock absorbers and Clean Air systems with sales over $7 Billion a year. I was providing leadership and direction for 38 associates of materials department that support the entire flow of material, from receipt of customer order to shipment of the order. Responsible for production planning, materials planning, shipping, receiving and purchasing.

I was responsible for:

•Generating Sales and Operations plan every week and suggesting the operation plans for various departments, reacting to customer demand

•Reduced total DOH to 18 from 27 days, and reduced productive inventory to 7.4 DOH from 16

•Managing the performance and development of materials department personnel to support achievement of plant key measurables.

•Reduced the freight cost by $1 Million and continuously analyzing the freight data to optimize the shipments

•Implemented capital project for returnable dunnage program

Development of the Master Production Schedule and supportive Production Plans for all parts consistent with customer/market/forecast requirements, company commitments and available resources

Communicated with Sales, Manufacturing and Purchasing to ensure schedules are adhered to and prioritize schedules as needed and at the same time to minimize interruptions to the processes
