Mechanical Design Engineer May 2014 – July 2015
Dumra Machines, Gujarat, India.
Assisted engineering staff in the design and development of systems and components using Computer Aided Design software
Responsible for designing prototype for Fully Automatic Capsule Filling Machine by using the New Product Development process that consisted of ~800 parts
Created detail drawings, Documents, General assembly, Bills of materials and performed Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
Led development and coordination in all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, creating inspection plans, Experienced Tolerance Stack up for assemblies and fulfilment of orders and specifications
Designed Motor base support and conducted Structural and Modal Analysis to determine the maximum von Mises, displacement, factor of safety and modal frequencies of the assembly
Tested for safety, material expectation, and tested motor base functionality by locating the areas of maximum and minimum stress
Tutor October 2015 – December 2016
New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ.
Tutored under-graduate students in courses such as Stress Analysis, Machine Design, CAD
Providing guidance to undergraduate students explaining basics and suggesting alternate solutions to challenging problems PROJECTS
CREO Parametric – Cart Assembly and Design
Performed dimensioning and modeling on 13 individual parts of a cart that were assembled using CREO
Designed and conducted global interference checks after product assembly to improve dimensioning and create accurate fits
Discovered 3 major interferences while testing that led to increasing the diameter of hole in one part (Lower arm) and using different size of Bolts.
Created detailed project plans and drawings with Bill of Material (BOM) for each sub-assembly and assembly part.
Managed assembly plans and led efforts toward maintenance and release of BOMs Solidworks - Design, Assembly and Manufacturing Centering Attachment
Designed centering attachment consisting of 23 unique parts and performed assembly using SolidWorks
Designed and conducted global interference checks after product assembly to improve dimensioning and create accurate fits
Discovered 2 major interferences, while testing that led to redesigning of Bolts
Performed Turning, Threading and Centering using CREO Manufacture to implement and produce final product Steady State and Transient Thermal Analysis of DSP Chip
Created different parts for a single DSP chip such as silicon, chip under-fill, substrate, coating using CREO
Created different material for multiple parts respectively using Ansys Workbench.
Performed steady state and thermal analysis to determine locations of Von-Mises stress and maximum displacement Undergraduate Project: Design and Fabrication of Motorized Screw Jack. Team leader
Designed, assembled and manufactured a prototype of a Motorized Screw Jack.
My role as a team leader was to Planning, make the important decisions, assign duties to all the team members, managing the funds.
