This letter is in response to a Job listing placed on your web page for the position of Nuclear Engineer for the Savannah River Site, in Aiken, SC.

Enclosed with this letter is a copy of my resume, which outlines my educational background and over 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry. PE licensed in South Carolina, and holder of advanced degrees in both business administration and environmental engineering.

Experienced in all aspects of design, construction, and startup of nuclear power plants. Additional engineering experience in environmental D&D, procedure development, configuration management, corrective actions management, and quality assurance programs. Design engineering experience includes preparing of various site modification packages, supervising design of new technology for updates to existing nuclear plant BOP and NSS systems. Familiar with scheduling and estimating techniques and processes, interfaces with stress analysts, engineers, designers, and Project Managers. Operating experience includes performing duty as System Engineer, responsible for availability and reliability issues in nuclear power plants. As a certified Systems Engineer, responsible for various BOP, NSSS, and Safety Systems. Also, experienced with Human Performance, Root Cause Analysis, and providing many and varied technical and non-technical training classes for engineers.

I have over thirteen years of DOE Project previous experience at SRS and WPT; and over six years of design and startup experiences including gloveboxes, nuclear material confinement, inert atmospheres, and nuclear safety requirements, nuclear quality assurance (NQA-1) and nuclear project controls experience. Courses taken related to desired work: EMCH552 Introduction to Nuclear Engineering; EMCH553 Nuclear Fuel Cycles; EMCH758 Nuclear Systems ; EMCH561D Licensing and Regulation; EMCH 561N Radiation Damage in Materials; EMCH759 Waste Management; EMCH772 Nuclear Materials, EMCH776 Safety Analysis for Energy Systems, EMCH755 Advance Nuclear Engineering and EMCH757 Shielding Analysis. I have had both a Q and L security clearances at SRS, although neither one is current active.
