I am a visiting consultant at Indraprastha Apollo and admit my patients in Apollo and do my procedures there too. Over last 13 years at Apollo Hospital, more than 1000 Pediatric Interventions including Device Implants performed.

1.Siliguri: For the first time in North Bengal, in Chang Hospital more than 50 Interventions including ASD Device Closure, PDA Device Closure, VSD Device Closure and Pulmonary Valve Balloon Dilatation, Aortic Valve Balloon Dilatation, Coarctation Balloon Dilatation. More than 100 procedures performed in Siliguri.

2.Jodhpur: Established complex interventions in small babies including PDA Device Closure, ASD Device Closure, VSD Device Closure and balloon valvuloplasty.

3.Jalandhar: Neonatal Balloon atrial septostomy, pulmonary valve, aortic valve balloon dilatation, Coarctation angioplasty, PDA device closure and ASD Device Closure.

PAST

1.Director & HoD Pediatric Cardiology, BLK Children’s Heart Institute.

Instrumental And Key Leader in setting up the department from scratch with manpower recruitment, nursing training, protocol setups and running of OT, ICU, Outpatient, Cath Lab. 190 pediatric cardiac surgeries performed in 18 months, 300 Cath lab procedures performed in same time period, 2500 outpatient Non-invasive echo tests performed with more than 500 pediatric cardiac admissions. Monthly revenue generation was close to 1 Cr.

2.INDRAPRASTHA APOLLO: (2004-2013) Senior Consultant, Pediatric Cardiology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, India.

Main Achievement:

1.Established Neonatal and Premature baby Intervention Program. Smallest baby to have angioplasty 1.1 kg.

2.Established the Fetal Cardiology Program

3.Established Device Closure Program, >1000 device implants

4.Started the DNB Pediatric Cardiology Training Program.

5.Established the Pediatric Cardiac ICU

3.SIR GANGA RAM HOSPITAL: Feb 2003-March 2004: Consultant In-charge, Pediatric Cardiology & Consultant In-charge Non-Invasive Lab.

Main Achievement:

1.First transcatheter Flow restrictor Implant in India on 2 patients in August & October 2003.

2.Initiated the First Device Closure Program in this Hospital.

3.Performed Challenging ASD Device Closures using “2 dilator technique”.

4.RABINDRANATH TAGORE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CARDIAC SCIENCES, KOLKATA: June 2001 to Jan 2003 : Director, Pediatric Cardiology.

Main Achievement:

1.Establishment of a complete, functional and successful Pediatric Cardiac Unit with all fields including Non-Invasive, Invasive, Interventional (including device closures and technically advanced interventions), Peds Cardiac Intensive Care, Outpatient and Inpatient Services. Performed the first ASD Device closure in the city and established the ASD Device Closure program in the Institute.

2.Performed the first VSD (Post MI) device Closure in East India.

ADMINISTRATIVE

1. I have been the Administrative Head of Pediatric Cardiology and the Administrative Head of Non-Invasive Lab at the Ganga Ram Hospital. I had staff of more than 30 people under me in the Non-invasive Lab; all equipment related to

the Non-Invasive Lab, its maintenance contracts and normal functioning of the Lab were part of my responsibility in Ganga Ram Hospital.

2. I have held a leadership role at the RTIICS where I was heading Pediatric Cardiology Unit as the Director. I was responsible for the functioning, running and establishment of the Peds Cardiac Unit at that Hospital; its academic activity and progression of the medical Unit.

3. Assistant Chief Resident in the Department of Pediatrics, Albert Einstein college of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center, 1993-94. I was instrumental in changing the responsibilities of the Assistant Chief Resident to include a pivotal role in the continuing primary care of patients with poor Follow-Up in the population served by the Bronx Municipal Hospital.

4. I have been involved in teaching Pediatric Cardiology to Residents, Junior Fellows, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Technicians as a Fellow and subsequently as a Consultant. I consider myself a patient and persistent teacher.

5. I have trained several Echo technicians in the practice of Pediatric Echocardiography.

I have valid Indian & a US practicing license. I have also had valid medical licensures for practice in Saudi Arabia & Qatar. None of the licenses have ever been revoked or privileges to work in any Hospital ever been withheld.
