Position: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (Gold Processing Plant)
(In Charge of CIL, Crushers & Conveyors, Machinists & Pumps)
Responsibilities Include:
Conducting safety and tool box meetings as scheduled and on shift start respectively.
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant including repair and installation of all electronic, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
Analyzing and reassessing equipment maintenance requirements and frequencies as well as making recommendations to the maintenance planning department when changes are deemed necessary.
Investigating, representing and providing technical reports for any incidents participate in root cause analysis of failures when required
Coordinating maintenance in process areas and the process plant including mills, crushers, conveyors, CIL tanks, pipelines, water treatment, pumping systems, power systems and ancillary industrial equipment
Reading and understanding mechanical drawings, ensure proper drawing library is established and maintained
Liaising with mechanical maintenance team on process control instrumentation and PLC systems when required
Supervising the work of mechanical supervisors, engineers and a team of technicians
Ensuring process plant mechanical infrastructure is maintained to a standard to enable annual plan targets to be met, and the long term integrity of assets are established through life of mine planning.

Supervising installation and maintenance of crusher and CIL Process plant units such as Vibrating screen, Sag mill, Ball mill, 54-74 primary crushers (gyratory), Agitators, warman and mill mark pumps, elution circuit equipment, Thickener systems, Pumps, Compressors, Cyclones, Apron Feeders, Linear Screens, lubrication systems at the milling section etc.
Liaising closely with the plant operations department to provide a timely response to any problems in the plant
Develop budgets and forecasts for Fixed Plant Maintenance area and assist the Plant Manager with the creation of overall department budget
Ensuring that employees (mechanical crew) gain new skills and achieve their full potential by developing and implementing effective training and mentoring programs.
Maintaining effective training records, in co-ordination with other training staff to ensure information is available in a timely and effective manner.
Evaluating training and assess for competency
