• FRONTAL CRASH TEST OF HATCHBACK AND SEDAN Feb ‘16 o Simulated crash test of Ford Taurus and Hatchback with 50th % Hybrid ІІІ dummy at 35mph and 40% offset. o Preprocessing in Hypermesh and LS-Dyna for dummy positioning, car positioning, velocity definition, contact definition and output cards. LS-dyna was the solver. Post processing in LS-Dyna, HyperView and Hypergraph. o Analyzed the crashworthiness of the vehicles, Internal energy and compared the available crush space and checked for intrusion into occupant space. Various injury criterion was calculated for dummy to check its safety.
• SHEARING RESISTANCE CAPACITY OF A CLEVIS BOLT JOINT Apr ‘16 o Designed and assembled the Clevis bolt joint in Solidworks. Imported file to for pre-processing in Hyperworks. o Generated solid fine mesh, Pre-tensed the bolt, applied Transverse shear load and created contacts. o Simulated in Abaqus. Analyzed Shear stress, displacement and contact pressure of the assembly.
• HUMAN ANKLE IMPACT RESPONSE IN DORSIFLEXION Dec ‘16 o Impact Response of WSU right leg FEM model (50th Percentile Male) when impacted by Aluminum plate axially at a speed of 5.5m/s was studied and analyzed from a paper SAE #902308. o Analyzed Force Vs Displacement plots. Dorsiflexion angle and Tibia stiffness to loading was calculated.
• SIDE IMPACT CRASH TEST (FMVSS 214) Apr ‘16
o Simulated Side impact crash test of a SUV as per FMVSS 214. o Obtained displacement of door component and analyzed dummy response and injury curves. o Robust side structure (B-pillar), side airbags and intrusion beam were incorporated to improve structural stability of the vehicle and occupant safety.
• ROOF CRUSH RESISTANCE (FMVSS 216) Mar ‘16
o Simulated roof crush resistance of Chevrolet Silverado truck with 50th % Hybrid ІІІ dummy per FMVSS 216. o Analyzed the behavior of critical components of vehicle i.e., change in head room, Strength to Weight ratio involved in quasi static roof crush as per FMVSS 216 regulation using LS-Prepost and Hypermesh. o Optimizations in model were done to reduce the damage in car by altering thickness of A-Pillar & B-Pillar.
• ROLLOVERS: EFFECT OF BELT DESIGN AND SIDE AIRBAG ON KINEMATICS AND INJURY Mar ‘17 o Researched number of papers to study occupant kinematics and injuries associated with rollovers. o Side airbag curtains should use sophisticated crash sensors and should be inflated for longer time. o A 4-point belt and a pretensioner with quick trigger reduces sliding of occupants and thus prevent ejection.
• COMPOSITE DESIGN OF LAMINATE OF WIND TURBINE BLADE Dec ‘15 o Developed code in MATLAB to conduct accurate calculations for composite laminate design. o Developed hybrid laminate with carbon fibers and glass fibers plies to achieve high strength and Tsai –Hill criteria was used to check its failure.
• PREDICT THE FATIGUE LIFE OF SOLDER BALL IN FLIPCHIP PACKAGE Mar ‘16 o Designed a flip-chip package used in micromechanical systems (MEMS) in Solidworks. o Meshed the geometry, applied boundary conditions and thermal cyclic load in Hyperworks. o Analyzed plastic strains in solder ball when subjected to a cyclic temperature load and calculated the Fatigue life using Coffin - Manson’s equation with those strains in a code generated in Excel.
• DESIGN, FABRICATION & PROPULSION OF HOVERCRAFT Mar ‘14 o Designed hovercraft with independent thrust lift system to achieve high levels of maneuverability and allowing a better control of design variable.
o Using Bernoulli’s equation calculated the volumetric flow rate of hovercraft fan necessary for it to hover based on its dimension and its mass.
o Designed graphic in AutoCAD, manufactured the prototype in college workshop and presented a working model. WORK EXPERIENCE
