• Managed company’s largest defense program launch ($13.8 mil contract) to date.

• Contributed technical leadership and provided coordination for a 25 member cross-functional team (across several divisions), assigning tasks, and ensuring all technical and programmatic requirements were met.

• Lead and assisted Project and Engineering teams in creating manufacturing work instructions, 3D models, drawing packages, and build instructions.

• Identified several areas for project savings. Took advantage of an opportunity during the course of project “ramp-up” where a major portion of material and some supplies were negotiated and purchased at a 60 percent cost savings.

• As Project Manager, Managed scope and budget totaling $18 mil/70 percent of projected revenues for the division and was liaison to the customer.

• Performed risk management to identify any relative fabrication issues or process improvements and then establishes and manages the process.

• Implemented company-wide standard strategy for Preliminary Kick-Off (PKO) and Fabrication Review (FR) meetings involving Project Managers, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Operations Personnel, and outside sublet-Vendors/Suppliers, discussing project scope, technical/quality requirements, schedule, and communicate company expectations for the end product are clearly understood prior to initiating/releasing for fabrication.

• As Project Engineer, oversees fabrication design phase by reviewing and interpreting customer supplied drawings; translating them into a more manageable program of fabrication sequences, and issues final approval for drawing packages released.

• Reviews contract documents along with QA for accuracy at quotation, and coordinates Job Review Meeting (JRM) to ensure manufacturing plan conforms to applicable industry regulations & standards, Customer requirements, Company QAM and policies, procedures.

• Writes RFI’s to Customer to resolve any detailed specification/expectation that isn’t clearly understood, or to achieve Customer approval to correct any issues that arise during fabrication. Creates and approves BOM, and then communicates project needs to Procurement Department personnel prior to material acquisition.

• Writes “traveler” work instructions to coordinate manufacturing/fabrication sequences and manage quality/NDE checks/hold points to ensure company is producing quality products while reducing the likelihood of missing potential non-conformances, and implements continuous process improvement.

• Writes NC (non-conformance) dispositions to correct/mitigate an issues arising during the course of fabrication/machining processes.

Lead-Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor, Shaw (CB&I), Lake Charles, LA, October 2011--February 2014

• Supervised 18 MFG Field Engineers, and was company’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) during the course of fabrication/manufacturing of nuclear energy related products.

• Primary function was the Production Floor’s technical expert providing coaching/mentoring/training to Manufacturing Engineers, production personnel (Welders/Fabricators), and Operation Managers/Supervisors.

• Was heavily involved in planning and execution of high-risk production activities such as assembly, welding operations, and heat distortion prevention procedures (Resolving technical welding/fabrication issues consistent to maintain maximum quality of end product).

• Ensured the proper implementation and maintenance of the company welding program in order to meet ANSI, Nuclear Quality Assurance 10.CFR.50 (NQA-1), and ASME Section(s) I, III, & IX, B31.1 & B31.3, and ASME-Ni8, & AWS D1.1, D1.3, D1.4, & D1.6 industry codes & standards.

• Administered the implementation of the shop traveler/other documentation within the Engineering Department’s scope (Drawings, specifications, welding procedures etc.) are either followed accordingly, or corrected on the spot, or provides a feedback loop for lessons learned on the production floor during the curse of manufacturing.
