Entry level Accountant

Branford CT 06405

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am very interested in the open tax staff position. I am trained in Prosystems FX engagement, Global, go file room and other tax preparation software. I am scheduled to sit for part one of CPA exam December 4th 2017. I have experience preparing individual and business tax returns.

For several years I operated a small business and am very familiar with administrative duties. During this time I discovered a passion for accounting, specifically tax. I am passionate about finding opportunities for individuals and businesses to move from simply complying with tax laws (after the fact) to strategically planning financial moves to truly minimize the effects taxes have on their bottom line.

I started with Marcum in the tax department in 2017; I was fitting in well and happy there. Due to a death in the immediate family I was forced to resign from the position to tend to urgent family matters. I can assure that you that this was a once in a lifetime event and does not reflect my track record accurately. The shortest time of employment prior was over 5 years. With that said, I am ready and available for full time work immediately. I am highly motivated, detail oriented, and have the prerequisite skills and knowledge to fit into any tax department and perform well. The accompanying resume will provide more specific information regarding my experience.

I will be available to discuss this further, and I will be looking forward to speaking with you.

Thank you very much for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Sean C. Shanahan
