Interface regularly and answer questions from Citizens, Developers, Engineers, Architects and Electricians for new, existing or future St. Light/ Overhead/ Underground Developments for Distribution and Major Project. Review, evaluate interpret and field check proposed utility plans for compliance to specifications, codes and standards. Determine and plan the best design configuration (Radial Feed, Loop Feed, Dual Feed, Primary Metering/ Secondary Metering) to provide the most reliable, efficient service available taking into consideration Austin Energy Cost & Customer’s expectations. Work with Marketing Rep’s on Key Accounts for Top 200 Customers.

Manage, Coordinate & Schedule Projects in accordance with need dates. Responsible for the Development Process of each job, from start to finish and meet need dates. Responsible for the Assignment of Electrical Service Planning Applications. Responsible for the generation of project numbers and work order numbers; used in Design, Construction, Civil Inspection, Pole Setting, Tree Trimming, Easements, etc. of each job. Develop layouts, designs for new, existing, or future Distribution/Major Projects system expansions. Perform power system calculations to establish correct electrical load of Power System components, functions, ratings and limitations. Analyze power distribution facilities (Overhead/Underground/Street Lights) such as: Poles, Conductors, Conduits, Transformers, Pull boxes, Switchgears, ATO’s etc.

Prepare Electrical Designs such as: Overhead, Underground, Street Light (Distribution/Major Projects/Quick Response/Key Accounts Top 200 Customers) systems for Residential, Commercial Buildings, or Apartment Complex Developments. Prepare and Draw plans, diagrams, tables, charts, maps, loop diagrams corresponding to our existing and future construction of our electrical system. These drawings are produced constantly being updated for use by Construction Electrical Crews, Engineers, Telephone Co, Cable Co, Gas Co, Austin Energy and other City Departments. Draft and update as-builds. Operate Personnel Computer, Blue Line Machine, Copy Machine, Fax etc.

Write Correspondence and Contracts, provide general conditions and illustrated details of all equipment needed to complete each specific project. Provide legal details instruction our Customers on specifics on how to install equipment. Generate accurate cost estimates for installation or removal of new/existing electrical facilities. Responsible for generating and collecting fees for material & labor cost, on specific projects, before coordinating with construction to complete jobs.

North-East Alternate Team Leader, assist Supervisor in issuing work to Designer. Take incoming calls from Customer and direct them through proper channels. Review and check other Designer’s work, letter, booklets to ensure jobs are being designed and estimated correctly. Complete and close out Design approval work order numbers once projects have been signed off. Assist team members with projects, when problems are beyond their skill level. Responsible for Surveying the proper placement of our new utilities by physically going out to the field and putting markers in the area to be built. Visit Job Sites visually inspect and make sure jobs are meeting need dates. Meet with City of Austin Inspectors and review and corrections being made during construction phase. Work on programs such as: Microsoft Word, Speed, Reflections, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Data One, etc., on a daily basis.
