PURCHASING MANAGER AND PROYECT MANAGER 09/01/2011 - PRESENT

Worked with demand forecasts from Sales & Marketing teams to determine appropriate quantities of raw materials, packaging, equipment, spare parts and finished good products to meet demand requirements. Managed forecast load and MRP planning on SAP.

Managed inventory levels and lead times for raw materials, spare parts, supplies, finished good products to meet production requirements and inventory policy guidelines.

Supervised and coordinated staff assignments of 18 employees in 4 areas (Purchasing Department at two facilities, Purchasing Department at the Main Office and General Service Department).

Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely, cost and effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.

Developed and managed supplier cost reduction of 12% plus, and stocking program improvement to aid overall inventory by reducing inventory costs by 15-17% the last 3 years.

Managed the last 10 years the operation of an American Company responsabile of the logistic of the purchases in USA of raw materials, chemicals, spare parts, supplies and equipment exported to South America. This Operation represented a reduction on cost of 15.5% (i.e.: US$ 800.000 for 2016 saving).

Managed three proyects (5 MM US$) related to install the complete production lines for bleach and household cleaning products, includding bottle production, ordering the bottles into the lines, filling, capping, labeling, packaging and palletizing. This new production lines increased production 200% and with a reduction of workers 43%.

Performed monthly Purchase/Budget reports for the Board of Directors.

PURCHASING COORDINATOR 05/16/1992 – 08/31/2011

Supervised a team of 10 employees in the Purchasing Department.

Ensured raw material components be ordered and delivered in a timely manner.

Monitored reposition costs by updating and evaluating purchase price variances; alert Sales and Finance Departments of costs variance.

Negotiated long term contracts with suppliers providing a continuous yearly improvement in performance, included costs, quality and delivery, optimizing cost savings for the company.

Communicated and coordinated with factory and suppliers to ensure continuous supply of product, meeting quality and delivery requirements.

Managed the implementation of SAP Logistics Module with SAP Consultants, Purchasing and Logistic Department, and two Production Plants, in two months less (82 % of total time) than was budgeted.

PROJECT MANAGER 10/01/1986 – 05/15//1992

Managed a project to produce Sodium Sulfite Anhydrous and Bisulfite using as raw material Petrochemical Sulfur (US$ 1.2 MM).

Investigated and selected updated technologies available in Brazil, Germany and Italy, as well as visiting factories and project companies quoting the design of the new Chemical Production System.

Studied the market visiting factories that used this raw material and determine volume consumption.

Determined the optimum location of the plant based on source of raw material and the most important industrial consumers.

Quoted and import main equipment specially designed for this raw material according to the production capacity requested of 600 MT/Hr.

Stablished a Pert Program to coordinate the installation and supply of equipment in order to avoid delays on project accomplishment.

Managed the project to produce Precipitated Silica (3.2 MM US$), specialty raw material for the tooth paste industry and other areas. Obtained industrial approval of our product as a substitute having the international standard quality. The process includes testing and laboratory evaluation as well as performance in live production lines.

Imported equipment required for this project. Quoted and purchased steel structures and tanks according to design specifications.

Accomplished with the project team the installation, startup and run of production of this specialty product.

Worked directly with the industries to substitute the original raw material they were using with our new developed raw material in the areas of tires, shoes, paint, agricultural insecticides and rubber parts achieving approval by 96 % of cases.

Developed with a multinational toothpaste manufacturer and our technicians a new product used as a carrier for the abrasive function.
