Smart Mushroom Classification as Poisonous or Edible Nov 2016 Dec 2016
• Predicting whether a mushroom is poisonous by training model using a noisy mushroom data set available at UCI machine learning repository.
• Data set contains 22 discrete features of mushroom which are used to train decision tree and Naïve Bayes classifiers using Java, R and Weka tool.
• Compared results of Training Decision Tree without pruning and observed model over fitting v/s decision pruning and model selection by cross validation.

• Given partially filled out matrix, my recommender system fills out all the predicted rating values.
• Developed a User-Based Collaborative Recommender System for MovieLens 100K Data-set in Java to predict the rating that a user would give to an item using Apache Mahout.
• Additionally, implemented a case of "Cold Start Problem" for users and items, which does not leave any history prediction.
• Improved item rating prediction and predicted item rating for users by achieving Root-Mean-Squared-Erro (RMSE) as low as 0.762
