Airports Engineer / Senior Project Manager, PACA Projects Department and TC 2008 – present

Airports Engineer/ Senior Project Manager that is responsible for defining, planning, managing and delivering project management and control on a complex 300+ Million Omani Riyals project (Salalah International Airport), in addition to other complex 200 Million Omani Riyals project (Cargo Complex and MRO Building) to meet both customer and business requirements to ensure the project is delivered within its objectives and in accordance with the Project Master/Execution Plan. This involves, amongst other, the following:

Ensuring adequate development of scope in accordance with WBS (work breakdown structure)

Tender evaluation and negotiations

Managing the delivery of contractual deliverables

Ensure adequate structuring for the project resources including external consultants

Stakeholder Management

Integration of deliverables

Requirements & Acceptance activities

Project Management Governance including compliance with EDMS (electronic document management system)

Ensuring project compliance to Quality Requirements in accordance with project documentation and governance

Ensuring compliance with H&S requirements

Monitoring and reporting on Programme, Cost and Contractual issues

Active participation in Value Engineering and Risk Management workshops

Continuous coordination and liaison with Contractors and their subcontractors to ensure queries and issues are resolved adequately

Liaison with various Authorities and Stakeholders to ensure permits are in place

Provision of monthly Cost and progress reports

Ensuring documentations are in place for project close out and handover.

Responding to technical and general queries from 3rd parties

Reviewing yearly works plans

Consolidating, reviewing, Monitoring and control of financial year spending

Evaluation of supplier prices

Negotiation of maintenance packages

General management of the team

Production of organisation breakdown structure

Continuous liaison and interaction with other Authorities

Deputy General Manager, Kanz Oman Trading & Contracting Co. 1984 - 1987

The main duties involved:

Production of internal financial and operational reports

Ensuring company compliance with H&S

Monitoring and reporting on the works lifecycle and ensuring all documentation are in place

Monitoring and controlling the procurement and appropriate use of materials and minimizing waste

Monitoring and imposing health and safety within the field.

Monitoring works to ensure compliance with project specifications;

BSc (distinction)…. Construction Engineering Caledonian College of Engineering 2007

I have attained a Certificate of Merit for outstanding performance in the Built and Natural Environment – Construction Engineering with distinction for the academic year 2006 – 2007.

I am also working towards becoming a Member of Royal Institute Chartered Surveyor which is currently in progress.

Attended a five (5) days Airport Facilities and Operations Management Course in Muscat by Modern College of Business & Science.

Attended a two (2) days Flight Safety Course by RAFO in Salalah, Oman.

Attended a twelve, (12) days AutoCAD 2008 course in Salalah Airport by PACA, Oman.

Attended a twelve, (12) days Computerised Maintenance Management System Course (CMMS), Oman.

OTHER SKILLS INCLUDING IT

I am computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook email. I’ve good understanding of AutoCAD.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

Poetry, Arabic Calligraphy and Painting; I used to be a sculptor in the 1970s; this has now become a rare.
