Self-motivated Mechanical Engineer with 2+ years of experience in product design. Seeking Full-time employment that can utilize and improve my skills. Currently on OPT and available to start immediately. EDUCATION:
Masters of Mechanical Engineering (University of Cincinnati, OH) GPA- 3.12 (August 2017) Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (University of Pune, India) Graduated First class with distinction (May 2015) TECHNICAL SKILLS:
CATIA, ANSYS, MATLAB, X-Modal, ProE, Auto-CAD, Mastercam, MS Office, Solidworks EXPERIENCE:
Vice-Captain, SAE Supra (February 2014 – July 2015)
Led the college’s SAE Supra (F-SAE equivalent) team to design and manufacture a Formula style race car.
Designed the differential of the vehicle and achieved maximum torque on lower and speed on higher gears.
Carried out a detailed calculation for gear ratios and simulated the same on KISSsoft.
Designed the intake manifold with a 20mm air restrictor and plenum for the engine in CATIA and analysed the air flow in ANSYS.
Designed engine and gearbox mounting brackets and troubleshooting system integration of the vehicle.
Hands on experience with different machining processes like MIG welding, turning, milling, grinding etc.
Analysed and planned workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow.
Developed a detailed Gantt chart to make sure all the processes are completed in time.
Raised funds for the team through different sources and managed them in order to acquire equipment.
One of the two people to represent the college SUPRA team for the virtual rounds at national level. Lead Powertrain Engineer SAE Baja (August 2012 – July 2013)
Accomplished maximum off-road performance with increased torque and stability by modifying the gearbox.
Designed and manufactured a compact two stage reduction gearbox in order to increase the torque
Expedited component procurement resulting in overall reduction of project duration.
Identified the failure modes and implemented corrective action plans using DFMEA. Tremec India (Mechanical Engineering Intern) (May 2014 – June 2014)
Supervised shot peening operations and achieved the desired surface finish for the gears.
Statically documented the deformed Almen strips from shot peening and changed the intensity of shots in order to get the desired results.
Learned lean manufacturing tools like- 5S, Total Productive Maintenance and Error Proofing. ACADEMIC PROJECTS:
Finite Element Analysis of Carbon Composite Disc Rotor (August 2016–June 2017)
Designed a brake rotor using principles of dynamics and modelled it on CATIA.
Analysed the rotor on ANSYS and determine the best material to improve performance and reduce vibrations. MPE of Baja rollcage and different structures using multi-reference impact test (March 2016–June 2016)
Executed impact test on a Baja frame and rectangular plate at different input and output locations.
Determined the modes and natural frequencies and performed root cause analysis to reduce resonance.
Performed FEA analysis on ANSYS and verified the results obtained from impact testing. Modal parameter estimation of a circular plate using MIMO shaker test (March 2016 – April 2016)
Performed a MIMO shaker test on a circular plate using random and pseudo-random excitation methods.
Estimated the modal parameters using PTD, PFD and RFP-Z algorithms and compared the results. Estimation of Frequency Response Function for MIMO data (August 2015 – November 2015)
Designed and implemented a program to determine the FRFs, phase and Multiple Coherence for MIMO data.
Implemented various filtering, windowing and averaging techniques to improve results, reduce errors.
