Professional Experience
Airgas-Nitrous Oxide Jan 2017 - present
Plant Manager
I manage a plant that makes Nitrous Oxide. I have been tasked with managing a spare parts inventory to prevent lead times for repairs to critical equipment. I have also been tasked with starting a maintenance program that will install a preventive or predictive method as opposed to a run to failure type program.
This plant takes Ammonium Nitrate and through a distillation process makes Nitrous Oxide.
Continental Refining Company May 2016 – Aug 2016
Maintenance Manager
I managed all in-house maintenance as well as projects in the plant. This includes pipelines, valves, vessels, metering devices, pressure and temperature transducers. I work on rotating equipment, vapor recovery units, heaters, refrigeration units, coolers, pumps and the flare system. I managed a crew of 13 people.
This plant was a small refinery. They made gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.
I was laid off from this position.
Onyx Engineering, Engineering Company May 2015 – Jan 2016
Senior Project Engineer, working at Valero, Ardmore, OK
Working with all types of projects up to 10 Million Dollars. Pipelines, valves, tanks, vessels, slug catchers, heaters, refrigeration units, coolers, pumps and the flare system.
This plant was a large refinery.
I was laid off from this position.
DCP Midstream, Midstream Oil and Gas Feb 2007 - Apr 2015
Senior Project Engineer, DCP Midstream in Carthage, TX
Life cycle evaluation and analysis of rotating and stationary equipment in a PSM facility.
Analyzing plant equipment and recommending upgrades or changes
Managing Construction projects from right of way to painting the pipe
Reliability engineering studies, reliability modeling
Root cause and failure mode analysis
Digital Control Systems (DCS)
Served on an incident investigation team for a boiler fire and a flare pipeline failure.
Installing and managing a preventive-predictive maintenance system to keep the plant running. Predictive outages compared to run to failure type outages.
Plant Manager, DCP Midstream-Linam Ranch Plant, Hobbs, NM
Responsible for gas plant 24 hour operation as well as the gathering system in the surrounding area.
Responsible for Safety, Operations, and Engineering. I managed 35 employees
$11M+ annual Operating Budget and implementation of capital projects and capital improvements
Asset Engineer, DCP Midstream-Hobbs, NM
Plant equipment evaluation and analysis for optimization. Suggest maintenance type programs to increase reliability.
Design of booster stations, rotating equipment, vapor recovery units, refrigeration units, pipe additions, launchers and receivers, Amine coolers and contactors
Sulfur Plant parts and service. Gathering and liquid transmission lines in the field as well as the plant.
Installation of AGI well and plant expansion.
This was an oil and gas midstream company. They took oil and gas from the well and then cleaned the hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and other contaminations from it and sold the products via pipeline.
I left this company for better opportunities with a contract company.
Insituform Technologies, Inc., Headquarters St. Louis, MI. Jul 1985 – Jan 2007
Pipeline Rehabilitation Company
Plant Manager, Insituform Technologies in Indianapolis
Plant manager for manufacturing facility in Indianapolis. Also designed wet out lines and product pumps for the Indianapolis plant.
Maintenance Manager, Insituform Technologies in Memphis, TN and Batesville, MS
Gained start up experience as I was in charge of training new operators during facility construction
Also in charge of relocating and installing new and existing machinery
Maintenance management of two manufacturing facilities in two different location that produced liners for the rehabilitation of existing pipeline. This included managing maintenance at two facilities that operated three shifts. Managing a preventive-predictive maintenance program. Managed yearly maintenance budgets and purchased spare parts. I contracted, negotiated and scoped outside preventive maintenance vendors. I wrote preventive maintenance programs for all machinery prior to company obtaining ISO 9001 certification. This included starting a maintenance program that would predict when machinery would fail and to set up preventive maintenance programs to avoid failure downtimes. Adapted and modified all preventive maintenance programs to comply with ISO 9001 requirements
Responsible for fully equipped machine shop (no CNC equipment)
Mechanic, Insituform Technologies in Memphis, TN
Started with the company as a sewing machine mechanic and worked in the plant maintenance department.
Company offered to pay my tuition to go back to school so I did. I got an Associates Degree and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
This company produced liners that could be installed in pipe so that they could be refurbished without excavation.
I left this company for better opportunities in the oil and gas business.

Projects completed
Mescalero Booster- 2.9 million dollars
Grassroots compressor station. This was a two compressor site that would have two slop oil tanks, automated intake and exhaust valves, liquid pumps, fuel and product scrubbers, fuel and product meters, and an automated computer system that included remote sensing and reporting. This project increased production by 30 MMSCF/D.
Linam ranch Boilers 4 million dollars
Installation of two new 82,000 lb/hr boilers. This was a two boiler system complete with burner management systems, piping to tie into the existing plant, and a computer control system that tied into the Plant DCS. This allowed for more efficient control of our boiler system and improved plant reliability.
Linam Ranch Acid Gas Injection Well- 32 Million dollars
This was a grassroots installation of an acid gas injection well and two compressors at the injection site and two booster screw compressors at the plant site. The well site was located 2.5 miles away from the plant. This allowed the plant to produce more dispose of more “off gas”.
Springhill Inlet Liquids Handling- 5 million dollars
This was the installation of two receiving vessels on the front end of the plant and all the piping, control valves and pumps necessary to handle the incoming liquids at the plant.
Minden Inlet Liquids Handling-10 million dollars
