Academic Projects:
Engineering Internship:
Mechanical Engineering Intern, Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co.,Ltd Hubei, China June 2014 – September 2014
Investigated manufacturing and assembly process of commercial truck engines. Developed 3D modeling of commercial truck engines using Solidworks. Worked with team members to investigate and resolve a engine oil leakage problem.
Ball Bearing Design
Boston, MA Jan 2017 – Apr 2017
CAD modeling/design and documentation of a single row ball bearing in Solidworks
Performed concept design of the product, created 3D models and detail drawings of the assembly and components including rings, cage, and balls. Conducted material selection to achieve reliable design for the environ- ment. Performed Finite Element Analysis on the assembly using Solidworks Simulation to validate the design.
Created the CAD files of injection molds by Solidworks and 3D printed the injection molds in machine shop.
Machined the ball bearing product using injection molding. MEMS Sensor Design
Boston, MA September 2016 – December 2016
Created a device and package design of a MEMS temperature sensor and a MEMS microphone for a small search-and-rescue robot. Researched on basic fabric form of IR sensor and pressure sensor and their processing methods.
Set up the analytical equations that govern the sensor’s performance and calculated the predicted response of the sensor to a step stimulus. Created modeling and simulation of signal conversion circuits using Matlab Developed the fabrication processes and the package methods. Hoisting Jack Design
Beijing, China March 2015 – May 2015
Designed a hoisting jack to raise an predetermined weight. Performed Finite Element Analysis to calculate the stress and determine the installation location.
Developed 3D modeling and assembly drawing in Solidworks. Machine Shop Practice
Beijing, China September 2013
Hands on experience on metal processing technique including casting, lathe, benchwork, welding, and CNC processing.
Led the team effectively to build a chess set and a bottle opener. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
