Title:FT Security Technician- Substance Abuse Worker - STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA PUBLIC SAFETY - PRISONS

Duties: Provide technical and supervision support to women in treatment who are on parole with the state. Work full time 10 hour shifts. Provides facility operational duties, supervise and monitor women in 90 day program, transport women, pick up and delivery of prison food for women, secures dorm managing up to 52 women. Completes on going education and trainings required by facility as part of employment. Shifts worked: Night shift 3rd, 2nd shift, and now 1rst shift day hours.

Reason for leaving - I was offered a position with Duffy's Rehab of Napa Valley which additionally offered me a shorter commute time from my home.

Title: Entry Level Counselor - Case Manager -Rehabilitation Program - 90 Day Cycle

Contract Employer - Human Potential Consultants - 310-***-****. CA Sate Prison Solano, Vacaville CA.

Duties: Full Time - Counselor - Case Manager - Case management of 25 male inmates in 90 day cycles of daily programming including, cognitive behavior therapy, relapse prevention, 1X1 counseling, treatment planning and transitional care planning. Prison Assessment Screening, and participated in required continuing education workshops with clinical team. Worked with dual diagnosed male inmates level 1-2 prison status, and life sentenced inmates. Provided additional prison security working closely with correctional officers assigned to our program. Carried a universal alarm, keys, wearing a safety belt.

Reason for leaving: Contract company could not offer extensions for continuing certification.

2008-2009 - C -415-***-**** -CENTERPOINT, INC. REHABILITATION PROGRAMMING - NOVATO, CA

Title: Prison Education Assistant Teacher - $17.00 per hour

Duties: Full Time - Teaching Psycho-education prevention, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy skills, and provided staff support administrative, and prison staff safety support. Worked with dual diagnosed males, level 1-3 prison status. Managed and supervised high risk male prison inmates ages 18-60.

Reason for leaving: CenterPoint Inc. contract program had to issue our staff lay offs due to CA state budget cuts which essentially closed the programs down at the prison at that time.

1997-2008 - NAPA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS JAIL-707-***-****

Title: Contract - Employed Teacher - Adult Education State Teaching Credential 5 year. Contracted a program for inmates for 11 years specializing in Parenting, Relationships, and Conflict Management. - $21.00 per hour - County contract rate. Built education program from ground up.

Duties: Developed program curriculum for continuing education for male and female inmates ages 18-60 Worked as a Contract Employee designated hours and days each month. Facilitated 6 groups of inmates 4-men's groups, and 2 women's groups. Created a family visitation program so incarcerated parents could earn credits in order to visit weekly with their child. Parent would have to be enrolled in my program to qualify. Worked with low and high risk inmates, most of who were dual diagnosed drug and alcohol addicts.

Reason for leaving: County jail recieved a new Director who replaced several in-house programs with a national agency. My program was closed out. I then moved on to be hired with the State Prison Rehabilitation programs as teacher and counselor.

CAREER EDUCATION HISTORY:

I have a variety of college and university level learning experience. I was a single parent for many years balancing work and limited finances and so my path through college was sometimes interrupted. Plan is to include education while I'm employed and to work on completing a degree in forensic psychology criminal justice, and to explore a MFT license. I am currently registering with the North Carolina Credential Board of Counselors. I have completed over 6000 working hours as a counselor in rehabilitation. I have my ASI Prison Screening Certificate earned through University of San Diego School of Psychiatry of Medicine Criminal Justice.

General Education - College - Santa Rosa JC, and Napa Valley College. 52 Semester Units completed. 1981-1997

2003-2007- University of Wisconsin - Independent Study Skills in Family Mediation Conflict Resolution. I financed myself in attending each year weekend workshops as an independent contractor - teacher.
