Assist with the implementation of the SAP Project Module for both NutraSweet and Searle Pharmaceutical. Established effective working relations with all corporate team members. Managed over $60 million capital. Implement Utilities DCS upgrade ($1,350K) and Waste Treatment electrical and controls upgrade ($1,100K) with cost savings of $80K and $65K respectively.
Achievements
Assist with the development of Best Practices Capital Project Management (CPM) procedures for NutraSweet, which were adopted by the Searle pharmaceutical facility. Procedures were later reviewed by Monsanto corporate engineering and were deemed appropriate to fit Monsanto’s World Class Project Management procedures.
Assist with the sequencing structure for the local SAP project to allow commonality between NutraSweet and Searle, which was a critical factor in later combining the two engineering groups.
Initiated and led creation of plant Process Safety Management (PSM) document systems including definition of covered process, prioritization, file development, and process hazards analyses. Volunteered effort and trained staff until Safety group could properly manage PSM.
Utilize PHA principles to help plant start first Hazards and Critical Control Points (HACCP) reviews. HACCP is now a key element of NutraSweet’s quality program.

Also, included are design, configuration, commissioning, installation relating to the power distribution equipment upgrade. The equipment includes Multilin relays, PLCs, switchgears and transformers. Design and built simulations of hardware and software for 15 KV, 4.16KV and MCC’s. Review drawings and ladder logic for utility control systems. Expert on area classification.
