Experience

Project Planning Engineer, Excellent Projects India Pvt. Ltd., India. April 2015 - July 2015

Performed major shutdown project of Bharat Oman Refineries Limited (BORL)

Utilized PRIMAVERA P6 & MS Project for planning and scheduling for the Sulphur recovery unit (SRU), Off-site and Flare units.

Tracked the procurement, budget, manpower, material and time consumed for each activity of every shift.

Used Critical path methodology, maintained baseline and updated the planned activities and resources to overcome the delays.

Reported activity spreadsheet to Sr. Planning Engr. and persuaded them to approve the updated plan through effective presentation.

Mechanical Design Engineer, Nadkarni Engineers and Consultants, India. October 2013 - April 2015

Utilized CAD/CAM softwares to design hydraulic systems, Jigs & fixtures, Weighing Scales, Mold parts, Tools and other products as per client requirements, also prepared concise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for manufacturing and assembly process.

Supervised and assisted the Machine shop operations to develop high quality and cost-effective design.

Performed non-destructive weld test, gauging and quality inspection of parts and assembled products.

Prepared Bill of Material (BOM), Material Requirement Planning (MRP), maintained report and inventory of the production cycle.

Mechanical Engineer Intern, EAMS Engineering and Management India Pvt. Ltd. May 2012 - August 2012

Designed pneumatic fixtures for holding BIW car panels for spot welding process in Volkswagen India.

Modified the design of installed fixtures by changing the clamps dimensions and positions for operating body parts of VW Polo.

Performed assembly, installation and maintenance of fixtures; and assisted in preparing Bill of Material (BOM).

Education

Master’s Degree - Mechanical Engineering, University of Texas at Arlington – 3.5 GPA August 2015 – May 2017

Bachelor’s Degree - Mechanical Engineering, University of Pune – 3.5 GPA June 2009 – June 2013

Projects

Designing and drafting of the Two-Stage Spur Gear Drive System

Designed the two-stage spur gear drive system based on a design of sliding contact bearing and selection of belt drive. Used AutoCAD for drafting the three-speed gear drive system.

Designing and testing of Variable Frictional Spherical Drive System (MQP)

Designed (SolidWorks) a very compact and simple frictional drive system to replace the complex and hefty conventional gears in the gear train to attain variable speed and torque. Test results proved that performance and efficiency of the developed system were close to the conventional system.

Design and Finite Element Analysis

Utilized ABAQUS for designing and performed finite element analysis of Retaining Ring. Quadratic, Triangular and Quad dominated meshing patterns were compared to different global seed size. The higher stress was seen over the outer surface and lower stress over the inner surface because of the tension at the outer surface and compression at the inner surface.

Design and Analysis of Robot finger

Utilized SolidWorks to design two fingers to pick and move objects with dimensions based on Robohand RPL-4C gripper. ANSYS was used for finite element analysis of designed ABS material fingers, that proved the design safe under applied pressure.

Kinematics and Dynamics Simulation

Simulated the end effector orientation (forward kinematics) and joint angles (inverse kinematics) of Adept Viper s650 using MATLAB code. Created a MATLAB code to simulate joint velocity, acceleration, torque (Dynamic parameters) of a 3-link planar manipulator with a point mass at distal ends of the links.

Utilized LabVIEW to produce forward kinematics of IBM 7535 SCARA Robot using Mathscript, Robotics and Numeric toolkits.

Pick and Place Programming

Programmed Adept iCobra 600 Robot and IBM 7535 SCARA Robot using Adept Ace software with V+ and AML language respectively. Robots were functioned to pick and place the objects in incremental sequence and patterns within the workspace.

Fluidic Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Heatsinks

Utilized ANSYS Icepak to design and compare six different cases of Heatsinks to find the optimum design. The comparisons were made based on the parameters like volumetric flow rate, inlet velocities, pressure drop, Pumping power and thermal resistance.
