Qualifications

I was a supervisor in a new 1,500 bed facility. As the Shift Commander, I had to oversee 200 Officer’s. I was responsible for the safety and management of no less than 1,500 inmates. My duties included the orderly running of my tour, and the safety of all staff and inmate’s. It was my duty to make sure the shift was staffed properly, and all policy and procedures were being followed. I also did investigations into staff and inmate matters. Many times outside Law Enforcement had to be brought in as a result of my investigation. I was a C.E.R.T. (Corrections Emergency Response Team) leader. We were responsible for cell extractions, unruly inmates, and any problem including riots. I have transported inmates to outside facilities such as, court, hospitals and other institutions. I have been involved with the hiring and firing of staff. I also was put into the inmate hearing process due to the hearing officer lacking in her job description. I was responsible for the armory and was a certified N.R.A. Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor.

As a supervisor I made decisions under stressful circumstances. An Officer’s life serving underneath me depended on me making good and sound decisions in seconds.

Experience

Laundry Supervisor

. My duties were to oversee inmates while the institutional clothing was washed. I worked alone for the first four months, then the institution was adding more inmates and removing the washers from the units.

. My duties in laundry quadrupled along with the responsibility. I was then given two employees and added another shift. The inmates then began sending all their personal clothing to be washed. We also started a new exchange. The inmates would come over for 2 hours exchanging Khaki’s, Sheets, Pillowcases, Jackets and blankets. I took all this new responsibility and duties with no issues to report. I have taught Use of Force, Firearms and Escort Training here at M.V.C.C
