Academic Projects

Master’s Research Project - Characterization of Cellulosic and Protein Fibers by FTIR Spectroscopy

This research has concentrated on the development of FTIR spectroscopic technique and establish a method to measure the force applied, for the characterization of plant and animal fibers. Plant fibers and animal fibers were characterized in as received and when exposed to UV radiation. The spectrum obtained by the fabrics analysis were correlated with their fiber compositions and structures.

Bachelor’s Research Project - Sintering Studies of BCZT-CFO Multiferroic Composites

This study was to synthesize a high dense multiferroic (BCZT-CFO) magnetoelectric (ME) bulk composite material with a high piezoelectric charge coefficient. The powders were compacted using conventional and microwave sintering techniques. The sintered pellets were characterized using X-ray diffraction to confirm the existence of these two phases without any reactivity between them. The high dense pellets were subjected for electric poling and piezoelectric properties were measured.
