April 2015 – March 2017 Quartus Engineering Inc. San Diego, CA Manufacturing and Engineering Manager (9 direct reports)

Developed info structure to increase capabilities for engineering design team to deliver complete mechanical, optical and electro-mechanical systems in prototype & low rate production quantities. Implemented staff management system for multi-project resource visibility.

Supported prototype design and managed assembly and test of 20+ complex opto-mechanical systems, including demonstration of FDA level documentation, delivered ahead of schedule and on budget.

Managed integration of 3 facilities into single new building including design & supervision of fabrication of 5,000sqft 10k cleanroom.

Designed and managed assembly of a custom “supercar” for production from the ground up.

Lead development & design of all aspects of vehicle including; suspension design, engine systems, transmission shift mechanisms, heat exchangers, casting patterns, carbon body molds, aluminum honeycomb panel design, fuel cell design, windscreens...etc.

Programmed all machined parts in Mastercam X for Haas VF4 CNC Mill and supervised machinist.

Procured material, laser, EDM, and water jet cut, sheet metal forming, coatings, and off the shelf parts.

Supervised shop technicians to create fixtures and welded assemblies from laser cut tubing and plates. January 2005 – September 2007 Saleen, Inc. Irvine, CA Production Sub-Assembly Manager/S7 Production Assistant/Design & Development Engineer

Managed Sub-Assembly team of 8 technicians to supply production line. Including daily progress reports.

Developed documentation for multiple vehicle lines and maintained through changes. Including but not limited to:

- Developing structure for new vehicle Bill of Materials for production.

Designed and/or re-engineered parts (CAD models / Drafting) for all vehicle lines when necessary to improve fitment, alter design/tolerances/coatings for manufacturing, reduce costs, increase efficiency, or update documentation. Resulting efficiency increase on custom (S7) vehicle line from 1 to 3 vehicles per month.

Created quality inspection documentation and carried out final inspection of completed Saleen S7 vehicle.

Revised engineering part change process and new release documentation to reduce data entry time by over 25%.
