Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsible for the Quality Assurance of a Microservices based Construction Estimating system. The product uses Microservices behind an AngularJS UI. Primary responsibilities include manual testing of Regression tests on multiple environments, defect validation, entry and tracking, test case documentation, and Automation Framework development. To successfully complete this project, the following skills are required:

Using Jira, validate and track the status of enhancements and defects. Enter new defects, and validate defects supplied by other team members.

Using Zephyr (Jira plugin), create and document manual test cases. Use report in Zephyr to provide metrics to upper management.

Use VMWare to create common templates for test systems. Track product versions and update templates as required.

Use MS SQL Server Management Studio to connect to test databases and validate test results in the database.

Explore and document possible Test Automation Solutions for the AngularJS UI, and the published Web Services. Explore reporting solutions that can integrate with the Zephyr system.

Automation Engineer

Charged with the responsibility of repairing and updating the company's REST API test automation, I worked to resume web services test automation following over a year of dis-repair. To successfully complete this project, the following skills were required:

Using Git, build and Install the following software applications: Maven, Fitnesse, Fitnesse REST Fixture.

Use tools such as OpenSSH, WireShark, Chrome and others to assemble SSH Keys and a Certificates for access to Web Services Providers.

Use tools such as PostMan or DHC to test/troubleshoot REST calls.

Use IntelliJ IDEA and the Company's Development repository, to step through source code to determine correct REST command syntax

Connect to the cloud server, using Putty, and observe the Tomcat API log file to troubleshoot command failures.

Document all steps required to repair the tests, and how to troubleshoot them in the future. This was loaded to the company’s Confluence cloud site.

Software Developer in Test

Using the C# test automation framework developed in prior engagements, I created a framework and tools to automate the testing of the company’s IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems. Automated tests and utilities were created to support specific testing initiatives. The framework implemented the following features/capabilities:

Integration with the IBM EHLLAPI terminal emulator programmer interface to provide direct program control of terminal service sessions with the iSeries systems.

Integration with Microsoft Excel to provide data import, results reporting, environment variables, log management, and test suspend/resume/retry capability.

Query capability to extract data from attachments in Microsoft Exchange mail messages and import the data to provide test input values.

Tests were compiled and published to run as command line executable, or from within Microsoft Visual Studio. Command variables supplied by argument or local text file.

Execution and reporting integration with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and Microsoft Test Manager.

Interaction with iSeries, as well as Browser Based U.I.s, and local (System32) applications. VMWare, Telnet, remote console and Terminal Services user interfaces also supported.
