Engineering Manager (Apr – Sept 2016)

Contract Engineering Manager assignment to manage Mechanical Design engineering group during relocation transition from current New Jersey location to Alabama.

Managed three mechanical design engineers as well as a remote manufacturing engineer.

Reviewed engineering requests and assigned work based on required skills and capacity.

Reviewed final drawings prior to release to production and interfaced with Asian manufacturing site to clear up any confusion with specifications to ensure product quality.

Product Technology Manager (2012 – 2015)

Technology lead member of a small internal entrepreneurial start-up team focused on commercializing and launching an innovative vehicle natural gas fuel adsorbent technology to extend the driving range of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles. Globally managed all aspects of products including product certifications, research and development scope and budget, manufacturing scale up and Intellectual Property.

Served as Product Manager for line of innovative Metal Organic Framework (MOF) products. Developed and tracked research and development milestones and budget through a phase gate project system. Work resulted in reduced product manufacturing costs and improved performance characteristics.

Program Manager for BASF research team during a federally funded ARPA-E (Dept. of Energy) natural gas adsorbent vehicle fuel storage project and secured $1.7MM in research funding for the company. Developed project budget, scope of work, milestones and project reports.

Coordinated three global teams in the US, Europe and Asia to manufacture batches of a new food contact adsorbent product and generate FDA samples and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documentation for certification. Produced successful manufacturing trial and sample generation that met the project timeline.

Managed product Intellectual Property (IP) process including patent landscape development, provisional patent and patent application development and Intellectual Property strategies development, which ensured timely filing of many patent applications supporting the business plan and IP strategy.

Compiled market and past production data to develop a cost benefit analysis report for alternative product forming methods. Project results were used for product pricing and evaluation of new product applications.
