Was brought on to assist with an initiative to migrate legacy data into a newly constructed data lake, specifically into Hadoop, and then utilize Tableau to develop dashboards. I was tasked to take old existing reports and create Tableau visualizations to replace the old reports. Also responsible for documenting all reporting requirements, testing data results and demoing new dashboards to Business partners.

Business Objects – Teradata - Recreated 10 Business Objects reports, with Teradata as the data source, with Tableau and Hadoop as the data source for the new visualization.

Responsible for managing all related tasks in performing a successful upgrade of client’s complex, multiple server cluster, SAP Business Objects (BO) environment from version 3.1 to 4.2, converted over 120 reports from Desktop Intelligence to Web Intelligence. Conducted training with client on new BO environment. Currently converting Business Objects reports Web Intelligence reports to Lumira Dashboards.

Business Objects Upgrade – Configured the Business Objects environment to execute at maximum performance and efficiently ahead of scheduled delivery date.

Converted BO Deski to Webi Reports – Converted 122 complex Deski reports to Webi reports using the combination of the conversion tool and then a manual process I developed for the team to follow when resolving those reports that did not convert using the conversion tool. The project pledged to convert 25 due to complexity of reports, but I delivered 122 converted reports.

Webi Report and Lumira Dashboard Development – Currently replacing old BO reports with Lumira visually dynamic dashboards using the iterative “Agile” methodology to meet customer expectations and achieve complete customer satisfaction.

Installed and configured Tableau Desktop and Server (version 9.1) then migrated to the Tableau Online environment. Used Salesforce and Oracle data sources to develop and automate 5 Production Tableau Dashboards for the Universities Executives. Participated in the Tableau version 10 beta team, and then upgraded Tableau Server to version 10. Worked with the Admissions office to develop a set of automated “Daily Work Lists” that are emailed to employees via Tableau Server. Structured the source data for each Tableau dashboard and report view for Tableau to consume properly. Negotiated with Tableau for server licenses and reduced the initial cost saving the client 25% of the total price of Desktop and Server licenses.

Development of Tableau Dashboards – During the course of gathering the reporting requirements for the Tableau dashboards I uncovered some business processes that were invalid and as a result the client corrected the processes company wide.

Development of Tableau “Daily Work Lists” – I met with the Admissions Director and listened to challenges his department was having and I developed and delivered a set of Tableau reports that reduced 2 hours of work time daily for 2 resources by automating the Daily Work Lists and having them delivered to intended recipients. I also created a dashboard that would track the progress of each associate for the managers and the director to view readily.
