Designed a new power generation plant room, detailing positions of generators, control rooms (MCC’s), route piping and supports with Bill of Materials (BOM) for City Council in Mozambique.

Senior Piping Design Draughtsman - DRA (SA)
Western Bypass Joint Venture - Designed the routing of cold water supply and return line, slurry return line, air supply line, potable water line, gland seal water line to and from pump stations, reducing stations within the mine to the main tanks and sludge dams on the surface. Worked directly with the Engineer responsible for the project. Various reviews were done and relevant changes were executed.

Senior Piping Design Draughtsman – TWP (Worley Parsons TWP)
Paardekraal Mine No. 2 shaft – Rerouting of all overland piping and supports. Designed all piping within No. 2 shaft from bottom of extraction point to the surface match line.
Thembelani Mine – from sketches provided by Engineer, I completed the piping pre-feasibility drawings for No. 2 Merger and Underground Stage 2. Designed Piping for Underground Stage 2 from levels 30 to 38
Mimosa Platinum Mine (Zimbabwe) – I was the project section leader and design draughtsman. Travelled to Zimbabwe, together with Engineer to do a pre-assessment of the site to ascertain the best positioning of a cyclone, pump station, skid and tank farm for optimisation of the plant.

Was responsible for: ALL plant surveys, plant audits, plant fabrication isometrics and piping layouts / maintenance of drawing standards (ISO 9001) / maintenance of office records and drawing number allocations/ ensuring that CAD computer was updated with current software and hardware / compiling of budget requirements / attended AutoCad user group seminars and hands-on workshops. Really enjoyed the interactions with clients on my site visits. I volunteered to take on the additional role of Health & Safety Rep., Maintenance Manager and Security Manager. This was an extremely rewarding challenge but I took it up with great enthusiasm and in the end it added to my personal development.

Design of 2d Piping G.A’s And As-Built for Saldana Steel, Iscor Vanderbijlpark and Impala Precious Metals in Springs. Checking and Backdraughting of drawings and 3D models for the entire drawing office. Drawing of Mechanical and Piping Assemblies, Site Visits, Site Supervision. I also ventured into Armed reaction for approximately 2 years, as a Senior Protection officer to all Standard Bank branches Cash in transit, as well as sweeping for explosives and listening devices. During 1988 I decided to broaden my horizon performing Construction Foreman duties and drawing of architectural plans but my passion remains with the Engineering – Petrochemical, Steam and Mining industry Piping Design
