COVER LETTER
Dear Hiring Team,
As a recent Bachelor of Science in Geology graduate, I am eager to apply my skills in a practical setting. I have always enjoyed the fieldwork portions of my classes, and thus I am very interested in a position that will allow me to work outside. Having completed many different field projects, I have an extensive understanding of mapping, collection of data, identification of geologic features, and soil classification. In addition I am fully capable of interpreting this data, and organizing it into detailed reports. My other skills include experience with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems; proficiency with Windows Office Suite programs; and the ability to quickly adapt to new programs and tasks.
I feel that I am a strong candidate for this position due to my propensity for teamwork, and willingness to work hard in physically demanding environments. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this application further, and I am looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Sincerely,
William Pate
