Job Responsibilities:

• Witnessing of Procedure Qualification Test and Welder Qualification Test.

• Preparation/Maintaining of QA/QC documents such as Fabrication Procedure, Inspection and Test Plan, Work Instruction.

• Involved in carrying out QC activities during fabrication of vessels, storage tanks pipe lines and structural.

• Visual & Dimensional Inspection has been carried out for the Vessels on the accessible area, as per respective specification found satisfactory.

• During inspection verified Nozzles grade and clauses.

• Inspection of materials, association of mill certificates, dimensional checks, condition of materials, documenting and reporting of non¬conformity (if any) to specifications.

• Inspection of welding consumables and equipment’s, checking of storage and baking of electrodes, verifying all welding parameters according to approved WPS.

• Stage Inspections (check joint fit-ups, seam orientation, pipe no., Heat no., alignment, visual inspection & numbering).

• Involved in Scheduling, Monitoring & coordinating with NDT Technicians.

• Prepare weld mapping of isometric drawings, dimension and material check of computed spools.

• Service activities inclusive of fabrication, installation of piping, hydro testing and commissioning works.

• Identifying the material (pipes, flanges, fittings etc) as per the material take off list and isometric drawings during the fabrication.

• Preparing inspection reports and other relevant documents.

• Site surveillance to check the construction work and give comments it necessary according to standard installation.

• Co-ordinate with construction, testing group and QC department in the preparation test requirement of each test pack and facile close out of any outstanding punch items.

• Inspection of set up of tanks, pressure vessels, piping, structural and equipment’s and dished ends.

• Fabrication and welding of the piping system as per shop and field weld and inspection of the same;

• Erection of Piping system as per approved isometric drawings;

• Inspecting the fabrication and installation, hydrostatic testing of pipelines, crossing underground portion & above ground portion, section piping, Flow line pipe Fabrication etc.

• Prepare inspection request prior to accept the construction piping / welding work, pressure testing and releasing of fabricated pipe lines in order to prepare certification for the completed items.

• Check edge preparation and fit-ups to verify that areas to be welded are free of contaminants and that fit-up is within tolerance.

• Maintain housekeeping and proper arrangement of spools in lay down yard as per the standards.

• Responsible for inspection joint fit-ups preparation and daily weld fit-up inspection.

• Verify that welding being performed is in accordance per the applicable WPS and monitor time to time that variables are within limits permitted in the applicable WPS.

• Checking of weld joint preparation before welding as per Clients specification.

• Check fit-up, bevel edge, root gap, root face, dimensional tolerance etc.

• Reviewing Welding Procedure Preparation according to ASME section IX.

• Ensure welding process, preheat and inter-pass temperature are in accordance to approved specification.

• Monitor Welders performance and to ensure that they performed with the limits of their qualifications.

• Ensure that essential variables are in accordance to approved specifications.

• Carried visual inspections.

• Verification of repair work and repair weld test.

• Maintaining the records of weld rejection rate & welder repair rate.

• Coordination with NDT crews for performing the NDT activities.

• Verify that welding machines are in good condition and bears calibration / validation.

• Monitor gas flow rates of shielding, trailing and backing, purging gases.

• Monitor that welding consumables are identified and are being properly handled by the welder.

• Examine each weld visually upon receiving the daily welding report and have to approve that the weld no., the line no. and the welder no. are correct.

• Approved that the welding operation is complete and the weld is free from any defect which is detectable by eye.

• Conduct / request for NDT pertaining to applicable type of joint welded (Radiographic Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing, and Magnetic Particle Testing).

• Responsible for post weld inspection of pipe spools for release going to painting.
