Serving as Project Manager I oversee implementing the Philips IntelliBridge Enterprise (IBE) system whose function is to interface patient data collected by the Scottsdale Hospitals Phillips Central Monitoring Patient Telemetry monitors into EPIC. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving the third party vendor and JCL teams involved in the implementation including Interface, Database, Server, Network Infrastructure, EPIC Analysts, Capsule, OnBase and EPIC Training. HIPAA Privacy Compliance HonorHealth IATRIC Security Audit Manager

Serving as Project Manager I oversee implementing an IATRIC Security Audit Manager (SAM) system that will be used by the HonorHealth HIPAA Privacy Compliance Officer to detect and investigate potential HIPAA Privacy violations by HonorHealth employees and contracted staff. The SAM data base is populated by extracts from the HonorHealth payroll system, the EPIC Clarity Access Audit Log and other systems that contain physician demographics and patient treatment data. My responsibilities include completing the detailed design required to define what HonorHealth systems will supply data to SAM. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving the third party vendor and JCL teams involved in the implementation including Interface, Database, Server, Network Infrastructure, EPIC Clarity Data Management, Human Resources Payroll, Cactus and Imaging.

HonorHealth Sterilization Centers Microsystems SPM

Serving as Project Manager I oversee implementing the Microsystems SPM clinical instrument inventory management system for use in the 9 HonorHealth Sterilization Centers, both Hospital and Out Patient. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving all of the third party vendor and JCL teams involved in the implementation including Database, Server, Desktop Support, Network Infrastructure, Construction Management, Network/Power Cable Vendor, Computer Mount Vendor, and Hospital Facilities Engineering. I also managed the projects Capital Budget and oversee all computer and peripheral purchases. Phase 2 of the project will include implementing a HL7 interface to EPIC OPTIME as well as Sterilizer and Washer interfaces to SPM.

HonorHealth Alere RALS Consolidation and EPIC Beaker Interface

Serving as Project Manager I oversaw all project tasks for the implementation of an Alere RALS Consolidation and EPIC Beaker Interface. Alere RALS is a third party systems that interfaces Point of Care (POC) patient lab results into an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. The project consolidated two separate instances of RALS being used independently at the JCL and Scottsdale hospital organizations into one. The project also included implementing a new EPIC Beaker interface for all POC blood testing devices. The devices included Roche AccuChek, Abbott iStat, Siemen Clinitek & RapidPoint. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving all third party vendor and JCL teams involved in the implementation including POC staff, Desktop Support, Network Infrastructure, Database, Server, Interface, Vendor Training, and Vendor Interface.

HonorHealth Labdaq Replacement

Serving as Project Manager I oversaw the evaluation of the best alternatives for either maintaining the use of a vendor Labdaq patient labs system used by ambulatory clinics to process patient blood and urine lab results or replacing it with a Data Innovations system interface to EPIC Beaker. The resulting decision was to replace the use of LabDaq with a Data Innovations and EPIC Beaker interface.

HonorHealth Trauma One System Consolidation

Serving as Project Manager I oversaw the evaluation of the consolidation of three separate instances of Trauma One systems used by three HonorHealth trauma centers into one hosted at HonorHealth. As project manager I coordinated all tasks involving all third party vendor and HonorHealth teams involved in the implementation including Trauma Center business owners, Server, Database, Network Infrastructure, and IT Trauma One Application Support groups. The project was canceled because the State of Arizona made their web hosted version of Trauma One available to the three HonorHealth Trauma Centers to upload their data directly into for reporting purposes.

JCL Deer Valley Hospital ASCOM Phone System

Serving as Project Manager to oversee the final stages of implementing an ASCOM Phone system at JC L Deer Valley hospital. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving all third party vendor and JCL teams involved in the implementation including Nurse Telemetry, Desktop Support, Network Infrastructure, Vendor Training, Vendor Infrastructure, DV Facilities Engineering and JCL Telecom groups.

JCL Deer Valley Hospital Nihon Kohden Central Monitoring EPIC Interface

Serving as Project Manager to oversee interfacing of patient clinical data captured by the Nihon Kohden Centrally monitored telemetry monitors at the Deer Valley hospital into the EPIC EMR. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving the NantHealth and Nihon Kohden third party vendors and JCL teams involved in the implementation including the Interface and EPIC analysts groups.

SHC - Safeguard Responder 5 Nurse Call system for Scottsdale Healthcare Hospitals

Serving as Project Manager to implement a Safeguard Responder 5 Burse Call systems at all three Scottsdale Health Care hospitals, Shea, Osborn and Thompson Peak. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving Safeguard and the SHC groups involved in the project. The SHC groups involved in supporting the implementation are the HL7 Interface, Nurse Staff Supervisors, Desktop Support, Network Infrastructure, Training, and Telecom groups.

JCL - EPIC Clinical Monitor Integration for Endoscopy and Dialysis

Serving as Project Manager for the implementation of interfacing the patient data captured by the JCL Hospitals Endoscopy and Dialysis clinical monitors into the EPIC EMR. The NantHealth Consulting firm is engaged to build the HL7 interface functionality needed between the iSirona Devices and the clinical monitors. As project manager I coordinate all tasks involving NantHealth and the JCL groups involved in the project. The JCL groups involved in supporting the implementation are the Rhapsody Interface, BioMed, Desktop Support, Network Infrastructure, Telecom, Training, and EPIC Analysts groups.

JCL- Passport Registration QA, Patient Address/Insurance Notice of Admission and Procedure Payment Estimation product implementation

Served as Project Manager for the implementation of Passport’s Registration QA, Address Verification, Patient Insurance Notice of Admission and Procedure Payment Estimation product. Oversaw and managed all interaction between Passport and JCL groups responsible for assisting with implementing all aspects of the product. The JCL groups involved in supporting the implementation were the Accounting, Rhapsody Interface, Desktop Support, Network, Training, and EPIC Analysts groups.

JCL - 3M 360 Encompass Computer Assisted ICD10 Coding product implementation

Served as Project Manager for the implementation of the 3M 360 Encompass computer assisted coding application. The application was purchased by JCL to enhance the ability of the Clinical Documentation Improvement and Health Information Management groups to code using ICD10 standards for patient claims for subsequent reimbursement by health insurance entities. Responsibilities included overseeing interfacing all application implementation tasks with 3M as well as managing all JCL groups supporting the implementation. The JCL groups involved in supporting the implementation were the CDI, HIM, ICD10 Program, Rhapsody Interface, Network Infrastructure, DBA, EPIC Analysts, EPIC Print Services, and OnBase patient document storage.

TriWest Health Care – TriWest.com Beneficiary & Provider portal shutdown

Served as Project Manager heading up a project whose goal it is to shutdown functionality for the TriWest.com Beneficiary & Provider portals by 3/31/2013. This project was necessitated by the loss of the latest Tricare West region government contract by TriWest to United Healthcare (UNH). Starting in November of 2012 selective Beneficiary and Provider portal functionality will be ended as Tricare administration is turned over to UNH. With some minor exceptions all functionality in the existing TriWest.com Beneficiary & Provider portals will be turned off by the end of March 2013.

TriWest Health Care – Tricare Premium System Change

Served as Program Manager heading up an IT subcommittee whose task it is to implement all system requirements for the Tricare Premium System Change. Systems impacted included TriWest.com, TriNet Accounting, TACC – Customer Support, IVR, Mobile, and BWE Enrollment Queue. Responsibilities as IT subcommittee chair also included coordinating the changes to web services that TriWest’s third party claims processor business partner Wisconsin Payment Systems (WPS) needs to implement.

TriWest Health Care – TriWest.com Provider portal migration

Served as co Project Manager on a project whose goal it is to bring all TriWest.com Provider applications that had been hosted by a third party, Wisconsin Payment Services (WPS) in house. Responsible for overseeing a business analyst team for the development of approximately half of the business events included in the migration. For the development phase of the project serves as Scrum Master and oversee the Sprints required to successfully implemented all applications into QA and then into production. In addition responsibilities include coordinating the changes needed to and creation of web services by WPS as well as coordinating web page styling changes implemented by TriWest’s Corporate Communications group.

TriWest Health Care – TriWest.com Beneficiary portal migration

Served as co Project Manager on a project whose goal it was to bring all TriWest.com Beneficiary portal applications that had been hosted at WPS in house. Was responsible for overseeing a business analyst team for the development of approximately half of the business events included in the migration. Served as Scrum Master for the development phase of the project and oversaw 8 two week Sprints that saw all applications successfully implemented into QA and then into production. Also responsible for the coordination of changes/creation to the web services by WPS used by the portal and the portal’s web page styling changes implemented by the TriWest’s Corporate Communications group.

Serving as Project and Program Manager headed up a IT subcommittee whose task it was to implement all system requirements for the TYA Health Care Plan. Systems impacted included TriWest.com, TriNet, TACC – Customer Support, IVR, Mobile and CareRadius – Authorization & Referrals. Responsibilities as IT subcommittee chair also included coordinating the changes to web services that TriWest’s third party claims processor business partner Wisconsin Payment Systems (WPS) needed to implement.

Mercer Health & Benefits Consulting – Government Health Services Group (GHSC)

Responsible as a project manager for 6 web based GHSC client applications. Oversees the development/maintenance activity of the project teams that support the different applications and tracks the budget/resource expenditures associated with each of them. When the need calls for it function as Scrum Master for projects associated with the different applications. In addition to managing the different project teams associated with the different applications also shares responsibility for defining and documenting user requirements gathered from the application projects business team leads.

All of the GHSC projects are for State Medicare/Medicaid agencies. Five of the six GHSC projects provide an automated interface that allows State agencies to process cost reports from providers in order to audit their performance and in some cases to enable the creation of a rate setting database. One of the GHSC projects involves the processing of eligibility and claims data related to a specific agency so that dashboards containing graphic and tabular data can be accessed by agency personnel and by the general public. The dashboards contain displays of data related to 42 different metrics. Most of the metrics have drill downs associated to State Zones, Counties, Managed Care Organizations and Category of Service. Some metrics include a lower set of drill downs for Age Group, Race, Ethnicity, and Gender.

Mercer Health & Benefits Consulting – Global Benefit Suite Product

As a certified Agile Scrum Master (CSM - 2008) Acted as co-scrum master for sprints held for the development of new functionality and enhancements to Mercer’s Global BenefitSuite product. Was responsible for conducting the daily scrums, recording sprint backlog item (SBI) progress, resolving impediments, re-allocation of resources to stretch items and SBIs. Mercer’s BenefitSuite product is a client web portal product that allows client’s the ability to oversee the performance of their health plan providers.

Mercer Health & Benefits Consulting – AM Best Carrier Financial Rating System

Project manager for an internal project that implemented a web based AM Best Carrier Financial Rating lookup application for Mercer business consultants to use when researching Insurance Carrier ratings for their clients. Conducted the JAD facilitation sessions in order to develop the business requirements for the application and then acted as the IT project manager of the development team that implemented the application.

Mercer Health & Benefits Consulting – Client Health Insurance Procurement System

Project manager in an internal project related to the development of a client health insurance procurement application. This application was a sub-system to an internal client health benefits decision support product. Responsibilities on the project included serving as a project manager and business analyst/JAD facilitator//team leader. Both applications are web based. The Client Insurance Procurement system will be used nation wide by Mercer Consultants to define their client’s Health Plan procurement strategy and final selection of Health Plan coverage’s based on carrier rate quote bid responses.

Mercer Health & Benefits Consulting – HIPAA Security Specialist

Responsibilities included providing the technical support of client HIPAA Security compliance consulting engagements for Mercer Human Resource Consulting. my responsibilities include assisting on HIPAA Security compliance gap assessments, risk analysis, security awareness training, and the development of HIPAA Security policies and procedures. The primary responsibility was to provide technical support to Mercer’s offices in the Western half of the United States with sole responsibility for those offices. Also, provides HIPAA Security support for selected Mercer offices in the Midwest and Northeast including St. Louis, New York, Chicago, and Pittsburgh.

Responsible for the coordinated the development of HIPAA client products related to risk assessment and training. Project manager in the development of client web based HIPAA Privacy and Security training products.

In addition providing support and leadership on client HIPAA Security projects also participated as project manager in several internal projects related to satisfying Mercer’s HIPAA training and compliance obligations as a business associate.
