Professional Experience

JACKSON PARK HOSPITAL: 2013- Present

Cardiac Sonographer

Long axis view.

1.Obtain parasternal long axis view in multiple depths and shows Diastolic

2.dimension measurements of RV, IVS, LV, PW, AR and Systolic dimension measurements of LV and LA.

3.Acquire M-mode at the aortic level, mitral level and left ventricular level.

4.Zoom on mitral and aortic valves.

5.Color flow of aortic and mitral valves with and without zoom.

Short axis view.

1.Obtain Short axis view, shows digital clip of LV apex, left ventricular papillary muscle level. Acquire the aortic valve (show aortic valve leaflets), tricuspid valve and pulmonic valve. Zoom on aortic valve, color flow of the aortic valve for aortic insufficiency. Color pulmonic valve and right ventricular outflow tract.

Apical views:

1.Perform 4 chambers view and acquire images.

2.If clinically applicable obtain multiple depths. Delineate endocardium clearly for all LV walls.

3.Zoom on LV, use color and different frequencies to rule out apical thrombus in setting of apical hypokinesis or low LV function.

4.Perform ejection fraction using the bi-plane method on all patients with cardiomyopathy and left ventricular dysfunction. If the left ventricular function is normal, perform the EF from four chamber view only.

5.Color flow doppler: MV, record color in LA showing multiple planes and also perform (TDI) Tissue Doppler in the septal and lateral basal walls of the LV.

6.Perform PW Doppler in RT Pulmonary vein to rule out dysfunction in presence mitral regurgitation.

7.Record 5 chamber view.

8.Color aortic valve and left ventricular outflow tract.

9.Tricuspid valve- show color flow, Record entire tricuspid insufficiency jet. Measure and record peak velocity of TR jet to obtain pulmonary artery pressure.

10.Obtain 2 chamber view left ventricular apical view. Evaluate MR with color flow. If left ventricular dysfunction measure EF.

11.Obtain 3 chamber view and evaluate for mitral regurgitation and aortic regurgitation with color flow.

Sub-Costal Views:

1.Obtain 4 chamber view.

2.Use color flow and zoom on IAS to R/O PFO or ASD.

3.Demonstrate IVC dimension changes during normal inspiration to estimate R.A. pressure to estimate RVSP and rotate to show abdominal aorta with and without color. Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

DEV MEDICAL ASSOCIATES, S.C. 2012 – 2013

Echo Cardiovascular Technician

•Directly support medical operations by producing two-dimensional ultrasonic images and Doppler flow studies of the heart and related structures.

•Conduct a range of exercise stress testing and thoroughly ensure Bruce protocol is explained prior to testing.

•Provide detailed, complete and accurate documentation of cardiac anatomy to interpreting physicians.

•Analyze the carotid artery by using color and Doppler flow measurements, both systolic and diastolic.

CALL DEVON MOBILE ULTRASOUND 2012 – 2013

Echo Cardiovascular Technician

•Produced two-dimensional images using parasternal L-axis, S-axis production of apical 2,4, and 5 chambers.

•Measured left ventricle dimension by using 2D, M-mode and Doppler flow on MV, TV, PV and AV equipment.

•Gained a thorough understanding of utilizing Doppler in carotid and lower extremities.

WEISS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, Chicago, IL 2010 – 2012
