JOB PROFILE Being a mechanical engineer I am responsible for the power plant operation. following are my job responsibility during duty hours :

1.Overall boiler & turbine operation (15MW), routine and emergency operation of steam turbine and turbo generator,turbo blower, cooling tower and auxiliaries following “safe and standard operating procedures”.

2.Having shift responsibility for monitoring and controlling the operating conditions of an assigned power generating units in order to deliver power generation requirements in the most effective way. Responsible to ensure the availability of major standby equipment by following proper trial schedule.

3.Finalizing of pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and verification against installed equipment/ line ups and configuration.

4.Assists in the orientation, training, development of O & M technicians to assure high work quality. Responsible for immediate action in emergencies like system failure, load throw, station blackout etc. to rectify problems and restore normal operation or shut down the plant or in extreme emergencies, to safeguard it from avoidable damage and to ensure the safety of personnel on the plant.

5.Assist in maintaining safety programs. Maintain close contact with operators on assigned units to ensure recording instruments are aligned and reflect actual operating conditions. Maximize plant efficiency and shareholder value without compromising personnel and equipment safety, environmental compliance or the long term commercial viability of the facility.

6.Coordinate the activities of Plant Operators in start-up, shut down and other major operational changes and makes adjustments to optimize operation.

7.Coordinate with maintenance personal in issuing work permits for carrying out maintenance and ensure that all company procedures are strictly followed.

8.Maintain logs and sheets for all shift operations and abnormal events. Include documenting, all relevant details and any problems encountered during work.
