Engineering Experience
Sterileyez Iowa Medical Innovations Group Fall 2016 – Spring 2017 o Designed a device to sterilize a viscous solution for use within the pharmacy department of the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
o Utilized CREO modeling for 3D printing prototypes and Arduino for programming the automation of device. Collagen Gel Compaction Cell and Material Interaction Spring 2017 o Fabricated collagen gels from acid-solubilized collagen. o Observed gel compaction due to cell traction forces. Aortic Root Aneurysm Cardiovascular Fluid Mechanics Fall 2016 o Collaborated in a group to observe and analyze fluid flow of a 3D aortic root dilation. o Modeled a 3D aortic root with and without an aneurysm through CREO Parametric. o Fluid flow analysis was conducted via ANSYS Workbench. Prosthetic Leg Summer project Summer 2016
o Collaborated in a team on a below-the-knee prosthetic leg designed for 3rd world countries by Ponsenti Intl. o Designed the joint interaction of the prosthetic ankle and tibia using CREO Parametric. Detecting MS in patients Systems, Instrumentations, and Data Acquisitions Spring 2016 o Assembled a 3rd order Butterworth Filter in connection to EMG patches on a subject. o Utilized LabVIEW to activate a light for a given threshold of action potentials reported from the EMG patches.
