ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Design and development of an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) Jan 2016 – May 2016

Led a 6-member team in the development of an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) and designed its body and assembly. Components were designed in SolidWorks, PTC Creo 3.0 and simulation was done in MATLAB.

Evaluate and obtain compatible softwares and drivers for the on-board computer to ensure proper communication of the different components and sensors with each other.

The UGV was capable of performing tasks like waypoint navigation, obstacle avoidance, vision processing, path planning and sensor fusion.

Forward and Inverse kinematics of Adept Viper s650 & Cobra i600 robots Aug 2015 – Dec 2015

Program and derive forward and inverse kinematics equations for Adept industrial SCARA robots and simulate them by implementing the equations.

SolidWorks was used for designing and LabVIEW for calculations. Real-time simulation was implemented by LabVIEW working in tandem with SolidWorks using add-ons.

Design and analysis of a flexible end effector Jun 2015 – Aug 2015

Design an end effector for industrial material handling SCARA robots incorporating compliance in handling different materials of varying hardness.

End effector was designed in PTC Creo 3.0 and stress and load analysis was done in ANSYS.

Reverse engineering of 3D scans of the Ford GT40 Jun 2015 – Aug 2015

Led a 2-member team in the 3-D scanning of original and replica Ford GT40 racing car.

Scan the models using Creaform Go!Scan 3D scanner, mesh the point cloud obtained from the scans using Geomagic Design X and subsequently create parametric models by importing the mesh in SolidWorks & Creo 3.0.
