Work Experience

Parker Aerospace, Irvine, CA Jan 2018 – Present

Sr. Systems Engineer – Control Systems Division (CSD) - Contractor: Belcan

Update Integration Test Report (ITP) based on verifying validated requirements and traceability matrix using DOORs based on SAE (ARP4754 and ARP4761), DO-178B, and DO-254. ITPs validate Flight Control System Integration Lab (FCSIL) components stick to surface include: Primary Flight Control Computer (PFCC), Inceptor Interface Module (IIM), Remote Electronics Unit (REU), Motor Control Electronics (MCE), MCE Channel Data Link (MCDL), Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Actuator (HSTA).

Generate and debug Test Case Script (TCS) using Test Script Tool in LabVIEW, compile and execute test scripts on FSCIL, and post process data by generating Integrated Test Report (ITR) using DiRT. Generate automatic rollups on all directly and indirectly impacted signals for detailed analysis and justification for pass and failure overall test results.

Debug, edit, and compile test case scripts to meet new requirements, Problem Reports (PR), and Verification Index (VI). Keep all test scripts, ITPs, and ITRs in documents version control MKS toolkit where changes can be tracked and all engineers can safely check out and check in documents, use Beyond Compare, UltraEdit, Context Editor, and Note++ for scripts comparison and debugging codes.

DIADEM toolkit plots signals in the background when DiRT tool is generating report, use DIADEM to analyze and troubleshoot signals where it can be added to test report for detailed justification and provide final results. Troubleshoot and maintain operation of FSCIL during test execution in case of losing hydraulic pressure in Fixture Control Module (FCM) or any portal communication between modules on A429, Time Triggered Protocol (TTP), Cross Channel Data Link (CCDL) and MCDL RS-485

Rockwell Collins, Irvine, CA Oct 2016 – Oct 2017

Sr. Systems Engineer – Electro Mechanical Systems (EMS) – Contractor:Donatech

System level test on development program for Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Actuator (HSTA) on Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ), generate Fault/Corrective Action Reports (FCARS) to communicate with vendors by sending out failure investigation reports to re-test/re-evaluate procedures to pass Qualification Test Procedure (QTP) and execute Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP). Prepare for TRR to conduct Endurance, Fatigue, Ultimate Load and Environmental Testing (Altitude, Humidity, Salt and Dust, Fungus and Flammability, Fluids Susceptibility, Temperature, Vibration, Waterproofness, Icing, Crash Safety).

Update Calibration Test Procedure document and perform calibration on mechanical test rig and console for Cell Load, Speed, RPM, and Position accuracy and improvement based on global standards (DO-178B, DO-254, DO-160, SAE (ARP4754 and ARP4761)). Create Functional Block Diagram (FBD) based on Interface Control Document (ICD) to build model and simulate scenarios for performance and stress analysis.

Analyze and improve testing, requirements compliance matrix, and risk mitigation with instrumentation group. Decompose requirements and link based on Design, Performance, Stress, Interface, Safety, Qualification, and Installation. Improve and optimize measurement sensors such as LVDT, RVDT, Strain gage, and load cells during verification and validation phase.

Review documents in PREP and Subversion tools to incorporate findings and release the new procedures upon customer approval, redesigned by adding 4 wire resistance method to Embraer ATP document for achieving accurate measurement and detect broken wire inside TCQ assembly unit as part of ATP process during production line.

Thales Avionics, Irvine, CA Oct 2012 – Oct 2016

Generic Integration, Verification, and Validation (G-IVV) Team

Customer Integration, Verification, and Validation (C-IVV) Team

Performed analysis on In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) system operation, functionalities, performance, and troubleshooting on all platform series (i5000, i8000, and AVANT). Conducted basic functionalities controller for broadcast Audio/Video on new control unit (ePCU2) with full authority on lab for testing, issue tracking, and troubleshooting. Conducted continuous integration test followed by regression testing after delivering fixes on Framework, Core, Software, Passenger GUI, and Low Level Software development. Joined Customer IVV and establish direct relationship with customer demo, maintain rack in the best working condition prior to FSAT), and mentor new interns/employees.

Review, update, and final revision prior to convert test module into eTM (internal electronic test module processor) to be used by Generic and Customer IVV team based on HW and SW Standards (DO-178B and DO-254. Record all test results and generate ticket for issues in JIRA with logs and diagnostics attached.

Attended technical training on IFEC Systems Engineering logics operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, client based business models and architecture, risk analysis, and testing methodologies. Attended training on requirements management and traceability tools such as JAMA and DOORs, and accomplished Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification to apply on current projects.

Convert Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) into ATP mode (factory mode) for preliminary testing prior to installing applications and core software for production demonstration in two separate phases. Download software part numbers on each LRUs and redundant IP Sequencing on each seat (Local IP host name), then create database according to wiring and network architecture, conduct conformity check as part of lab set up and configuration process.

Metron Aviation, Dulles, VA Oct 2011 – Oct 2012

Senior Associate Systems Engineer - Surface Collaborative Decision Making Team

Analyzed Surface Collaborative Decision Making system concept of operations, requirements, and system metrics and specifications. Document concept of operation refinements and operational feasibility adjustments based on stakeholders validations session. Participated in FAA and major airliners stakeholders validation session to document their discussion and final decision on the concept of operation as well as operational feasibility.

Created scenarios for all phases of surface operation in the new concept of Surface Collaborative Decision Making and analyze the scenarios under different situations based on weather and airport advanced equipments capability. Collaborate with operation and advanced research teams to validate the scenarios based on current Air Traffic Control (ATC), Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON), Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC), Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC), and Ground Control (GC) capabilities with the future advanced system capabilities.
