Most recent employment:

Senior Environmental Compliance/Safety Specialist GDIT (General Dynamics). Fort Irwin/National Training Center, CA. From 7/09 -12/16.

Inspected various haz mat/haz waste facilities to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Army, and

CUPA Environmental and Safety rules and regulations. Sites included production shops, motor pools, medical/dental labs, water treatment plants, and generator sites, both in cantonment and down

range. Established positive relationships with relevant personnel so that adherence was a constantly improving process. Worked towards full collaboration, not confrontation, in dealings with site

representatives. Entered gathered information into data-bases and spreadsheets. Am still

contacted by Government Employees re.: acumen I have of certain Env. Comp./Safety issues.

Responded to and coordinated spill responses. Served as Building Safety Warden for assigned work location. Participated in public outreach events such as “Earth Day” and “Armed Forces Day”. Escorted Government Inspectors and other notables to designated sites. Conducted asbestos and lead sampling.

Accomplishments: Upon date-of-hire, learned (OTJ) how to operate and maintain R&P PM-10 air monitoring stations. Worked with the Army to get 1 portable and 7 unsafe wood ladders replaced at air monitoring stations with permanent metal ladders. Oversaw the updating and automation of air monitoring and air permitting databases. To counter bad impressions of Fort Irwin’s R.O. water, devised a blind water taste test which has become a staple of “Armed Forces Day”. Served as I.C. for an 80 gal. glycol spill, the largest such event in Fort Irwin history. Wrote and produced print materials and radio PSA’s to promote “Earth Day” and recycling efforts. Reason for leaving: GDIT did not win re-bid.

Employing up to a dozen computer applications, processed telephone service requests from other telephone companies. As Safety Warden, conducted monthly meetings and inspections, attended building wide Safety Team meetings, called in work orders, and was tasked with being the last person off of the 2nd floor during drills and actual evacuations due to fire or earthquake events. 5/96 10/05.
